Appreciation Dinner from Sharon

Sharon bought us an appreciation dinner at Signatures by Lam's this evening. :) It's always a pleasure to try out new restaurants. Signatures by Lam's located in a perculiar location; within an industrial park and opposite a hostel for migrant workers. So we didn't quite expect to find a nice restaurant there. Btw it's patronized by even the ministers! *.*

Almost every patron ordered Signatures by Lam's vegetable juice. We gotta try it too even though we're not veg juice lover. It makes one feel healthy instantly! hahahahah :)))

The Kung Fu duck was tender. But I wouldn't say it's spectacular.

The sambal wingle bean was interesting. We've not had such veg before. I think it has 4 angles???

The beansprouts gave the fish hor fun extra crunch. ...and there was plenty of them! :)

The sea cucumber & fish maw chicken soup was flavourful. :) A taste of home cooking...

To our disappointment, the steamed pomfret was overcooked.... :( A pity because the fish was actually very fresh!

Sharon ordered imperial crabs, something different from our usual black pepper or chilli ones. Not too bad if you prefer a milder version of black pepper crabs. The flavours are less intense.

Rich, creamy with the right sweetness, and well cooked sago. The mango pomelo sago was a joy. :)

Soya bean ice cream atop soya bean curd. :) A healtier dessert option for the health conscious I suppose. :)

The yam paste with pumpkin which wasn't on the menu was a tad dry. : I

We weren't blown away by the main dishes. The mango pomelo sago & soya bean ice cream stole the limelight of the night.

A Much Needed Pick Me Up Brekkie

Heavy week thus far. I much needed a "Pick Me Up" brekkie to start my Friday.

It's a fuss free & o-so-easy to do brekkie. Simply layer frozen roti prata with mozzarella, top it with honey baked ham & off to the oven or toaster till it's golden brown. :) Doesn't it resembles a sunny? Or perhaps a moon? hm...:)

SW's cancer relapsed for the third time. We were trying to make sense of what the neurosurgeon was telling us last evening. Questions, decisions, questions, decisions...overwhelmed. Our hearts broke when tears rolled down SW's cheeks. There doesn't seem much we could do except to pray, which is most important & powerful...the power of prayers. We pray God's healing & comforting hands be upon SW & her family. Father, please remove all frustration, disappointment, sadness, negative thoughts & worries and replace these with renew strength, hope, faith, love & peace that transcends all understanding. Please also grant the onco & neurosurgeon the wisdom on the best course of treatment. We commit these in Jesus's most precious and holy name, Amen.

Soft Opening of Roadhouse

Woohoo, TG's baby - Roadhouse is finally in operation! :D We went for the soft opening with Wendy this evening. :) We had a Bacon M burger on TG's recommendation and it was yummilicious. :D The beef patty, bacon & caramalised onions fused beautifully together. If we had read the menu a little more carefully, we would not have ordered straight cut fries as sides. *.* Because the burger came with fries. :O We were fries overloaded.

For fat lovers, these Kurobuta ribs are for you! ^.* We were a little weight conscious to appreciate it...and were glad we ordered 1/2 rack only. The crispy cajun onion rings were a hit with Lin & Wendy though!

The wild mushroom pizza has generous amount of wild rocket leaves! :)

Now this dessert, salted triple nut tart has gotta to be a black horse! :D We had our doubts when it was brought before us...a little hesistant to try. We didn't like caramel *.* but we should not waste food! So we reluctantly took a little helping each & it was mm, mm, mm, gooooood! Never judge the book by its cover & may I add smell (caramel).

We will be back to try Roadhouse's brunch. :)

Simple Treats from Naomi Kitchen

We came across Naomi Kitchen a couple of times while running some errand at Crawford Lane, but never got the opportunity to check it out. We made an effort to do so this afternoon after collecting great-granddad's calligraphy from the framers's shop.

Simple stuff can be good! :) Ooo la la...

My fav has gotta be the chocolate tart. :D It's not too sweet.

And who can resist these cute doggie biscuits??? They looked better than they tasted, but who cares? They make good enough snacks to brighten anyone's day. ^.*

These pretty yummilious pastries made our Sunday a cheery one. :D

In Their Own Little World

There's a special bond between Faith & Koka. They quarrel, they play...in their own languages. ^.*

Koka always feels that other people's i.e Faith's toys are way cooler than hers. But seriously, we think they look the same. Only one's yellow & the other's blue. :D Don't you think so?

Splashing Great Time! :)

There's always part two to our cousins' celebration. :D Well, we have kids at home!

Charlotte, the b'day gal doesn't mind sharing the limelight with Jarius. Lol! :)))

He enjoyed making splashes while we enjoyed snapping the camera away! :D

Jarius loves water chasing & fighting! Boys will always be boys! :D

Big huggies to Charlotte yiyi & Shawn jiujiu for playing with Jarius today! :D

Again, I can't thank God enough for my lovely family. *.*

Birthday Brekkie for Charlotte

We gave Charlotte a birthday brekkie in our little garden. :) Such simple cousin get-togethers are always welcome in the family. We love noise & laughter! :D

A peep into our b'fast spread. :)

Lin claimed she had bread overload and will be avoiding them for a while! We had tuna, egg mayo, cheese, ham, beef & bacon to go with Snow Blanc and wholemeal bread from St Leaven. :D

I had cravings for pancakes! :D We cheated by getting some from McDonalds & plated them on our own dining ware! ^.* If I wasn't honest, everyone would have thought we made them! Hahahah...

Koka's doesn't fancy raspberries and more so on pancakes...somehow...She ate the pancake on its own, but not with raspberries?

Our breakfast was sweeten by these gorgeous strawberries! :D It's difficult to get really sweet strawberries in Singapore, so we hit the jackpot today! They were huge, very sweet & juicy. :) Happy!

We had an assortment of fruit & peppermint tea. No one fancy peppermint tea & we would have to leave them to Xueyi's next visit. :)))

As usual, Amy made some contribution to our b'fast spread. :D  Pink salmon spread & Royce chocolates. Woo hoo! *.*

May our good Lord continue to watched over Charlotte. We praise Him for His blessings & love for our cousin dearest. :D

I Can't Resist!

After her MRI scan, Sheau Wen and I went for lunch, followed by a nice afternoon tea at TWG! :)

I decided to break away from my usual order of scones and tried TWG's Strawberry Mille Feuille instead. Red strawberries, white icing, yellow custard & golden pastry; they are simply too pretty to resist. *.*

Lin, Mom & I had a simple but yummilicious breakfast this morning at Tully's Coffee & Quiznos Sub. A great start to our Monday morning! Woo hoo! ^.*

In the Mood for Cakes

Pauline & I were in the mood for cakes. :) We headed down to Bonheur Patisserie for some. ^.*

They ran out of Valrhona chocolate tart... *.*, so we tried The Chocolate Cake. It was goooood! :) We love crunchy praline base. :D

The Strawberry Balasamic Mousse was refreshing. The creme chantilly, strawberry balsamic creme, vanilla bavarois, pistachio sponge & strawberry balsamic jam coated sable fused together beautifully. :) I love the colours. Pretty. :D

Last but not least, a cup of yuzu tea each. :) Brillant Thursday afternoon. :)

Sandy Creation

Grace promised Jarius we would be making sandcastles. And so we did. :D

Jarius had so much fun playing with sand! :D

See what he caught! :D

While he was busy with his sandy creation, Faith was sitting "beautifully" under a coconut tree. Hahhahah.... :)

Yahui's a year older but still a kid at heart. :D Look at her sandcastle!

Poor Lin! She had stuffed nose due to the heat! : ( But I managed to get her up on her feet for some photo taking. ^.*

Sisters, cousins...blessings from God. :) Glory be to God!
