Happy 4th Barkday! ^.*

In the twinkling of of an eye, our baby will be 4 on Thursday! Happy happy barkday Koka! :D

We threw her a mini party today as it's a public holiday. I made Koka a strawberry cake but she did rather have a durian cake. *.* Durians are her absolute fav. :)))

Koka's guest list included:

Miki & his brother, Yoki,

Pinkie & her brother Beckham,

Sugar,

Mocha,
Cider & Hugo, both who weren't able to make it for today's celebration.

The furry friends were treated to sweet potato & chicken balls and Koka's b'day cake. :) Do you like the personalized aluminium bowls we made for each of them? :D

See how they savored their treats. :)

Beckham definitely enjoyed every bit of his treat! :D

Our b'day girl wanna be fed!  Her Chun Chun jie jie (she's here for a short vacation) pampered her like a princess! :D

Chun Chun had fun with Miki & Sugar too! :D

We the two-leggeds, feasted over nasi lemak! :D

Koka received lots of pressies. There were snacks, toys & clothes! She dug through everything & fell in love with the red rabbit. Good choice Tina! Good choice! Koka loves anything that has a string or a tail. The rabbit has two long ears! She teased the rabbit like a helpless prey, chewing on the ears as if they were dried cuttlefish.

Each doggy took home some homemade scones. We hope they like them. :)

While the doggies were tired from barking & chasing, we were exhausted from keeping them away from fights! It was a noisy b'day celebration for Koka! :)

In the Mood for Mooncake Baking

Mid-autumn is drawing near! :) Every bakery, confectionary, patisserie & restaurant has started promoting & selling mooncakes. Though they are easily available, Lin, Wendy, Tina, Pauline & I decided to get our hands dirty. We signed up for mooncake baking lesson with pastry chef Allison Hoon of mypastri.es. We had a fun filled moonie afternoon. :D

Some of the things I spotted at mypastri.es. ^.* Yup yup I spotted it. Did you? Le Cordon Bleu...woohoo... :)

Alright stop monkeying around & back to lesson! :) Allison had gotten everything ready for us. :)

We just had to get down to work...we mixed, we kneaded, we did this & we did that...

Allison's a fabulous instructor. She acceded to my special requests and answered all my silly questions... :)

The best part of the session was shaping our mooncakes...

I didn't want to use the mooncake molds to make traditional looking ones nor piggy mooncakes. I wanna create panda moonies for Lin because she loves them! So here we have it. ^.*

We waited in anticipation for the final products! :D

I love my panda moonies!!!! They are way too cute! I opted for coffee & chocolate pearls fillings for my panda mooncakes. :D I can't comment on the taste as I can't bear to eat them just yet...you understand don't you? :)

The lesson includes making snowskin mooncakes. Which do you prefer? Baked or snowskin? :)

Off to South Coast

Sometimes it takes friends like Jamie to get me familiarize with other parts of Singapore. :) Today we did a late lunch at South Coast. :)

One can't help but be attracted by the cheerful flowery lampshades and blue & white wall tiles. :)

We tried South Coast's set lunch. It consisted of bread...

pumpkin soup...

linguine...

and chocolate pudding with ice cream. Fabulicious!

And this is Jamie's first cuppa of the day...flat white. :)

The after-rain weather makes chilling by the bay an awesome experience. That's Jamie & my Friday afternoon. How's yours? :)

SINGAPOP Saturday Nite!

Thanks to Yvonne, we got to enjoy 1950s -2000s pop music in Singapore on a cool Saturday nite (the rain threathened to pour & phew it was just light drizzling) at The Promontory @ Marina Bay.

The event SINGAPOP was presented by EDB (Economic Development Board) to celebrate the nation's 50 years of economic development. It was conceptualized by Dick Lee and it paid tribute to 50 years of pop music development in Singapore. SINGAPOP featured home-grown pop music talents from the 1950s, 1960s,1970s, 1980s,1990s and 2000s.

It was free seating and we went there an hour earlier, in the hope of getting seats with a not too bad view. Early goers filled the center aisle by the time we were there, but we were still happy with our side aisle. :) Even if we couldn't see well, we could listen. ^.*

Lin & I had takeouts for dinner. :) I had a sudden crave for McDonald's nuggets & Don Chicken Pie! Yum.

There was still about 45 mins before the concert started. And so, I went snapping away. :)

We love the stunning opening of the concert! Don't you? :)

It was a lively performance and it's amazing the vocals of the senior talents are still so strong & crystal clear. :) I think they enjoyed performing as much as we were watching! :)

We were on a lookout for Kit Chan & Olivia Ong! :) Lovely singing...

The finale song, Home, sang by all the singers simply warmed everyone's hearts. I called Ann immediately just so she could listen to it live! It wasn't performed at this year's national day parade and she was kind of disappointed. :)))

An enjoyable Saturday nite indeed! :) It was a good thing I dragged Lin out of the house! She had wanted to zzz her Saturday away.
