Day 1: Finger Licking Good Supper at Two Two Fried Chicken

We had an early dinner on board Singapore Airlines. To squash the rumbling tummies, we headed to Two Two Fried Chicken for supper. :) It's located at the turn of Metro Hotel. Btw, there are many eateries around Metro Hotel!!!

We ordered the original and garlic fried chicken! Thumbs up! The chicken (including the breast meat) was tender.

Salt & pickles are provided to go with the chicken. But the chicken tasted great on its own! :)

We wanted to savour other Two Two fried chicken flavours and had supper takeouts on Day 2 & Day 5 (even though we were staying at another place) of our trip. :D

Day 2 supper: Spicy chicken...delicious but messy...the sauce dripped everywhere... :)))

The Koreans love to have fried chicken with beer. We love ours with coke! ^.* How do you like yours?

Day 5: Soy sauce chicken, not too bad either. :)

Our ranking for the flavours is as follows:
#1 Garlic
#2 Spicy
#3 Orginal
#4 Soy Sauce

Day 1: 안녕(An nyoung)! Metro, Our Home in Seoul for the Next Two-Three Days

안녕! We're finally in Seoul for our family autumn vacation. :) We chose Metro as our "home" for the next few days as we would be checking out some places around the area. If you're a hardcore shopper, Metro will fit you perfectly! It's 5 mins walk to Myeongdong. :D

Thank goodness we made it in time for the last shuttle bus (10.50pm) from Incheon Intl Airport to Metro. ;) We didn't do much on Day 1 other than checking into the hotel & going for a satisfying supper! :D

Mom & Beanie took a Standard room while Lin, Tina & I shared a Deluxe room that comes with a queen & single bed. It's actually pretty spacious. The only thing which I frowned upon was the tiny window.

Metro provides complimentary breakfast for their guests! :) We had three breakfasts at Metro and they are different each day. :)

Pauline & NC Say "I Do"

Pauline's fun, humourous, pretty cute at times, she sings really well, she's even tempered & she's very patient (she'll smile happily for me even when I make her pose umpteen times to get a perfect shot). For these reasons, I feel NC has gotten a precious gem. ^.* Today, Pauline is now offcially Mrs Ang! :D Hooray hooray hooray!

Here're snapshots of the wedding celebration at Grand Hyatt this noon. ^.* I didn't manage to capture as much satisfactory shots as I would love to. I was in hibernating mode half way through. :))) The wedding entourage had to be up at 5am this morning you see!!! :O

Blume Link provided fresh floral headpiece for the bride & wrist corsages for the bride's sisters. We hope you like them as much as we do! :D

The Gallery of Grand Hyatt where the celebration was held was dressed in awesome yellow Mokara!

Pauline invited mom & Beanie to the celebration too! :) Koka would love to tag along if pets are allowed! :))) It's her Pauline's biggie day!

Everyone woo & ah at Pauline's stunning grey & dusty pink gown with sparkly embellishement. We're loving it! :D

For lunch we were served an eight-course meal. :) The portion of every dish is amazingly generous. The"Double Happiness" appetizer delights alone consisted of prawn sticks, mushrooms, Sichuan spicy shredded chicken with pickled jelly and roast duck.

The mains included wok-fried prawns with bell pepper & macadamia nuts, braised whole mini Australian abalone and mushrooms, noodles, shark fin soup, steamed live rock garoupa and Cantonese style cripsy chicken.

We fell in love with the gorgeous wedding cake! It's pastel coloured layer sponge cake atop with fresh raspberries. :D

And chocolicious wedding favour are simply irresistable! :)

Btw, we love the drink list available to the guests. Besides wines, we were given a choice of juices, lemonades & lychee mocktails. :D

Toast toast toast to Pauline & NC! ^.^

Pandakin ;)

Pumpkins and more pumpkins. They are in every supermarket. Many had faces drawn on them to usher in the Halloween! We don't celebrate Halloween but I love painting and so I bought one just to satisfy my creativity urge. :)))

Material:
1 pumpkin
Black marker pen to draw the eyes, nose & mouth
CBTL (Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf) beverage maker machine catalogue for the ears ;) - I did my bit for recycling!

May I introduce Pandakin! :D

We didn't waste food! We sliced Pandakin to barbacue! :D Yummmmmmm...

Picnic at Marina Barrage - Too Hot

It's been a long while, at least 2 years since we went for a picnic. And so I suggested to Lin, Wendy & Tina to have one at Marina Barrage. :) The weather was clear, abit tooooo hot! But the panaromic view of the city from Marina Barrage made us stay for about 45 -60 mins. :)

There wasn't much shade on the roof top of Marina Barrage to protect us from the scorching sun. There's zero tree other than a small canopy.

Never mind about the heat or the sun. People are still having fun on the rooftop!

We salute this wedding couple & their entourage. They must be melting!

And here's the food from our picnic basket. :)

Pink salmon kimbaps and cheese luncheon meat & sausage kimbaps,

Crackers with egg mayo & pink salmon spread (mom made too much pink salmon fillings)

and berries tart (Tina's contribution) and Thai pink pomelo! Perfect for a summery noon! :D

It's advisable to visit Marina Barrage either early in the morning or late in the afternoon. The sun is just so unforgiving... : I We had to remove Koka's Bambi T-shirt. :)))

Lin, Wendy & Tina had sunburnt while I was spared somehow. :)))

We couldn't stay long. It was just too hot. But we love the blue blue sky! :D

Bak Ku Teh (Pork Rib Soup) Dinner :)

Raindrops keep falling on my head...making it a perfect evening to indulge in bak ku teh. :) We invited Vicky and Yvonne over for grandmom's warm & comforting bak ku teh (Pearlring brand) dinner. ^.*

Some like their bak ku teh with steamed rice, Lin & I like ours with noodles. :) We had dough fritters for dipping into the soup & steamed peanuts as sides too. :D

Mom gave us two options for dessert. :) Red bean soup with coconut or

Chendol! :)

Vicky and I had two helpings of Chendol as it was too good to stop at a glass each. Aiyaya, we're overstuffed. :(

Our Koka had a fab time with Yvonne & her godmom! :D She's sound asleep now, her batteries' flat from playing with godmom. :D

Stop, Snap, Snap Snap

We were distracted from our errands at Arab Street this afternoon. :) What was intended to be a quick sightseeing at Bussorah Street, turned out to be stop and snap snap at Children Little Museum. :) Anyway it was pretty fun. :) We didn't have time to explore the upper floor though. Next time eh? ^.*
