Monday Movie Nite

Seriously, who would catch a movie on a Monday nite? Oh well, we did like many others! :O We didn't expect the crowd, forgetting it's the school holidays. :)))

Anyway Tina has a movie gift card which was expiring and so we made use of it to catch Michelle Chong's directorial debut, Already Famous. It starred herself & Alien Huang as her love interest. Already Famous is a simple but sweet story about a Kampong girl & her pursuit to realize her dream of becoming a TV star. Depsite some average review of the movie, we felt it's still better than other local Mandarin movies. Some Hokkien was used in the film but it's alright for non-speakers like us as there're English subtitles. :)

Lin said we need to support the works of women. ^.*

I actually like the idea of catching a movie on a Monday nite. It gives us something to look foward to on an otherwise mundane & sometimes blue Monday. :) Hope you had an awesome Monday too! :)

Friday Nite Desserts at Mei Heong Yuen

The Chendol Snow Ice at Mei Heong Yuen is one of my fav desserts. :) The ice is coconut flavoured, making it real yum and the gula melaka just enhanced the whole dessert... :) We love to drizzle our chendol snow ice with lots of gula melaka. Tina had all the red beans as Wendy, Lin & I aren't fans of it. :)

The other dessert we shared was Lin's fav mango pomelo sago. :) But I didn't touch it as I was busy enjoying my chendol snow ice. ;)

A pic of us, happy with our sweet treats on a Friday nite. :)

Faith Turns 1! :)

Koka was all excited to attend Faith's one year old b'day bash! She put on her new dress & got balloons ready for her Faith mei mei. :)

We bought Faith a Tigger fondant cake from Bonheur Pattiserie. Lin chose Tigger as Faith was borned in the year of the Tiger. ;)

May we introduce Faith, the b'day gal. :)

The children were thrilled by the cake. They were eyeing the helpless Tigger... :)))

Blessed b'day to our dearest Faith. May she continue to grow in God's love.

Beanie's Mini B'day Celebration

Beanie took a day off on his b'day and did things he enjoyed. He even bought his own b'day cake. :) Koka stole the show again. It felt more like her b'day than Beanie's! :D

The sponge cake layered with fresh cream and atop with fresh fruits was from Imperial Treasure Bakery. We had never try Imperial Tresaure Bakery's cakes prior to Beanie's b'day. Though there was nothing to shout about with regard to the design of the cake, every bite was actually pretty delightful. Perhaps, we didn't have any expectation? :))) The sponge cake was light & fluffy. If one is looking for a simple cake, this might be the one.

Day 7: Blah Blah Last Dinner in Seoul

Beanie suggested we try Korea's popular fast food chain, Lotteria for our last dinner in Seoul. Verdict: Average.

I wished the food tasted as good as they looked. Something is just missing.

One thing for sure, the serving size is huge; making the meal value for your money if taste to you is secondary. ;)

Close shot of our order:

Hanwoo Bulgogi Burger, half bulgogi & half shrimp burger and fried chicken

Hanwoo Ladies Burger (the burger was soggy)

Shrimp burger (in Tina's words: "Didn't even tasted the shrimp...") *.*

Fries (the size of the fries is between that of McDonald's & Mos Burger)

Cheese sticks

Corn

Us with our food...

We didn't finish our dinner...

Other than this dinner, our autumn in Seoul was an awesome one! :)

We've already planned for our next trip in Mar! Tina, Ann, Lin & I are so looking forward to it! :D Canola flowers here we come! :)))

Day 7: Rain Stopped

Yippeee! The rain stopped! We could finally make our way to Yeouido Park. We took a slow stroll over from Yeouido station. :D Along the way we spotted a rainbow colored fish sculpture. :)

After which we needed to cross a 12-lane road.

The park is divided into theme-based sections: the Traditional Korean Forest, Grass Square, Culture Square, and Nature’s Ecosystem Forest. We didn't manage to cover the whole park though.

I've read that one of the must-see area is the Yunjunro Street, behind the National Assembly Building as it has the loveliest cherry blossom street in Seoul. Cherry blossom trees, 30 to 40 years old, line up to a stretch of 6km.

The park is lovely during autumn as well. :)

I was attracted by the wheels signage which designated a pedestrian walkway & a cycling path. :)

I would love to cycle around the park too! :)

We heart the rows of ginkgo trees. Don't you? :)

IFC Seoul is just across from Yeouido Park.

The berries added Christmas cheer to the park. :) I know it's still some time more to go. :)

While Tina & I were happily capturing the sights, beanie, mom & Lin took five. :)))

Another pic of Lin. Here's her under the yellow ginkgo trees.

Tina under the red maple trees.

And me. :) Thank God for clearing the sky and allowing us to witness His marvellous creation.

Yeouido Park is the last destination of our Seoul travel itineary. We needed to head back to Times Square for dinner, back to Courtyard to freshen up & to the airport to catch our flight back home.

Day 7: Lunch at Nolboo Budaejjigae

Budaejjigae (spicy sausage stew) makes a perfect meal on a rainy day. We had ours at Nolboo Budaejjigae at Times Square. :)

Nolboo Budaejjigae is a popular chain. We had to queue for a while before getting a table.

The sight of a big pot of budaejjigae got us a little excited! :D

Our budaejjigae consisted of cheese & various types of sausages. :)

Budaejjigae goes very well with ramen & steamed rice. :)

Again, I didn't touch the sides. :)

A very satisfying lunch once again! :D

Day 7: We're Shopping Because It's Raining

The rain kept us indoor. What can we do but shop. :))) The good thing about staying at Courtyard Seoul Times Square is we're within a multi-complex & Yeongdeungpo Rotary Underground Shopping Centre is linked to Times Square.

Note: Shops at Yeongdeungpo Rotary Underground Shopping Centre do not accept credit card payments. Strictly cash only.

Happy shopping!
