新年初三! 3rd Day of Lunar New Year!

新年初三 - grandmom, 二姨,小姨, 四姨,四姨丈, Shawn, Grace, Jarius , Faith & Lydia came over to our place for a simple celebration! It'll be our last Chinese new year celebration here at Sunrise Gardens. Gonna miss our little but fully utilized patio. :D

Mom prepared similar dishes to what we had on Chinese New Year eve. We are not complaining because we LOVE them! :D I had to stop Grace, Shawn & Lin from picking the food because I had yet to snap pics of them. Anyway, I didn't think the pics turn out great cos I was under pressure from them... and since they were similiar to what we had for CNY eve, I decided not to post them. ;)

二姨 got us take-out lo hei from a restaurant at Serangoon Gardens. While most people will dash & fish for the salmon, Lin & I rushed for the gold ingots (crackers). :)))

We had fun lo hei-ing! :D It's perhaps the only time we're allowed to play with our food! Ha! :D So here's lo hei-ing to an Awesome Dragon Year ahead!!!

Koka Wishes Everyone 新年快乐,万事如意!

Koka takes an extra effort to dress up this lunar new year! :D Which outfit of hers do you like? :D

Day 1: Checkered dress with pink bow from a random pushcart in Seoul

Day 2: Hippy rainbow T-shirt dress from a stall outside Ferry Plaza Farmers Market, San Francisco

Day 3: Floral polka dot dress from E-Mart, Seoul

团圆饭! :D

Hello everyone, I'm back to blogging & back for 团圆饭 (reunion dinner)! :D The last 4 weeks have been amazingly busy but I'm thankful for the opportunities He has blessed Blume Link with.

We have a special guest for this year's reunion dinner. Elaine's other half is away in Sri Lanka for business & so Lin invited her over to join us for her 1st CNY reunion dinner. :)

I'm not in the CNY mood yet but I'm so looking forward to our all time fav home cooked CNY dishes. ;) Simple dishes at their very BEST! :D

Here's the list starting from our utmost fav:

1) Stewed veg (consisting of daikons, carrots, leaf mustard, won bok, Beijing cabbage, Chinese celery, fa cai, mushrooms, gluten & vermicilli)

It goes so well with a bowl of steamed rice. Hmmmmmm...

2) Abalone & fishball soup

I love overnight soup as it tastes even better! It's more concentrated & flavourful! This is not overnight soup though. We just keep some for the next day!

3) Cold crabs

It's a teochew thing. ;) No seasoning required. The crabs are fresh & sweet on their own!

4) Shrimps with white chives, wishing us happiness all year round! ;)

5) Steamed fish with white chives to wish us bountiful harvest for the year. :)

6) Roasted chicken :) Mom had marinated it for at least two days! Definitely fingers licking good! Has chicken skin tasted this good???

Hope you had a wonderful reunion dinner like we did! We're stuffed with all the goodness, ready to usher in the year of the dragon! :D
