Saturday Afternoon Tea Affair at Foster

What do you do to make yourself feel better after weeks of duh & humph at work?

:( Well, we did tea with Pauline at Foster English Tea Cafe. :) We sipped, munched & chatted the afternoon away.

For an afternoon tea set of SGD11, you really shouldn't expect too much. It consisted of two raisins scones, fruit cakes (eeek...), cheese sandwich & cucumber sandwich and a pot of tea of your choice. Do not let your imagination run wild where the tea list is concerned. There isn't anything fanciful but good o peppermint, camomile, earl grey, English breakfast & lemon. :)

Lin & I have been craving for egg omelette and when we saw it on the Foster Times (menu), we opted for the mixed stuffing one.

We were pretty surprised when a bun looking omelette was served before us! Lol! :))) Verdict - average.

Hope your Sat was a relaxing one too! ;)

P.S: the place was packed so it's advisable to have a reservation.

Joyeux Anniversaire Wendy!

Our quest to check out new brunch venues took us to Antoinette. :) We gave the birthday gal, Wendy a list of brunch places to choose from and Antoinette was her pick. :)

Wendy & Lin ordered Savory Blinis with mushroom ragouts, grilled bacon, grilled tomato & salad. Humph...the pancakes were fluffy but we still prefer our pancakes with good-o maple syrup. :)

It's really strange to drizzle mushrooms sauce over our pancakes...

Edwin always choose to have pasta for brunch & today he ordered wild mushrooms risotto. :)

Tina & I ordered a classic eggs florentine. We would have preferred muffin base.

The servings were rather big and we could only manage two pastries.

The Versailles, a rich dark chocolate cake was quite difficult to resist for choc lovers like us. :) 

This Charlotte was amazingly refreshing. Likey likey. :D We love berries.

Tina & I spent some time brainstorming for gift ideas for our dear friend of 20 years. :) And here's what we came up with. ;) Pretty fuschia pink flower pots for Wendy's rooftop garden in her new home.
