Day 7 - Nagoya: Food Galore at Chubu Centrair International Airport :)

Chubu Centrair International Airport Nagoya has much to offer in terms of F&B. :) Thumbs up!

We couldn't leave Nagoya without having another Nagoya style breakfast. :) Breakfast today was at Cafe Yutori No Kukan.

Nagoya toast with honey, ham, salad and

red beans

Honey & coffee

There was just one more Nagoya speciality on our to-try list! :)))

Lin bought us tempura rice balls for snacking on the flight back to Singapore. :)

Meifutsu Temmusu Senju makes tempura rice balls using only the finest ingredients. :)

Such elaborate packaging. :)

Don't underestimate these plain looking babies. :)))

They are the most delicious tempura rice balls ever! :D

Day 6 - Nagoya: Two-rific Birthday! :)

As we turn XX, I'm celebrating our birthdays overseas. It saves loved ones and friends the hassle of celebrating our special day with us. :))) Besides, there's always the two of us. So it wouldn't be too quiet. :)))

On top of the birthday tart Marriott prepared for us, Beanie got us my fav strawberry cake from Gramercy. :)

We are God's two-rific creation :) Double the giggles, double the grins, double the trouble, double the pain. Twice as much to love, two blessings from above. :)

Blessed birthday Lin & me! :)

Day 6 - Nagoya: Shabu Shabu at Taikon Honten :)

I love shabu shabu! Lin brought us to Taiko Honten for our birthday dinner. :)

Taiko Honten specialises in traditional shabu shabu and Kaseiki cuisine.

I was hoping for something more casual as we had a week of fine dining already. *.*

Anyway, everything seemed intricate here. :) Our Tokujo shabu shabu course included:

a chilled starter (some tofu & jelly fish thingy)

assorted veg, mushrooms and tofu

and premium beef slices
.

The service at Taikon Honten was impeccable.

Udon next up! :)

Mochi

Ochazuke :)

And finally, green tea ice cream :)

Day 6 - Nagoya: Miso Katsu Overload at Yabaton

If you happen to be in Nagoya and you crave for pork cutlet, head down to Yabaton! :)

Yabaton is known for its miso-katsu, pork cutlet prepared with thick miso sauce.

We checked out their main store with its recognisable  sumo-wrestling pig mascot. :)

A must try would be their signature miso katsu. :)

The serving was huge and it came with rice. :)

Japanese curry pork cutlet was pretty awesome too.

Sides that came with the curry pork cutlet.

We overestimated our appetite. :))) Ebi-furai (Nagoya giant prawn) and kani korokke...

Say cheese with ebi furai! :D

Because the food was deep fried, we were too stuffed halfway through the meal. *.* Sharing is highly recommended at Yabaton! ;)

Day 6 - Nagoya: Pretty Plum Blossoms at Nagoya Castle

It's the season of plum blossom! :) I looked forward to going to Nagoya Castle to catch a glimpse of them. :)

I wasn't keen on the castle or the Leyasu Tokugawa history. I was more captivated by the beautiful blooms. :)))
