Day 1: Our Momijigari Holiday :)

Nikko famed for its autumn hues was on our to-go places during autumn. The theme for this holiday is momijigari. :)

Shinkyo bridge stands at the entrance of Nikko's shrines and temples.

From the bridge, we strolled to Toshogu Shrine. Every angle is photo worthy. :)

Day 1: Autumn with Wendy & Lin :)

Despite reminding ourselves not to take any red eye flight, we were on it again. :))) We arrived in Haneda Airport at 6am...we definitely needed some perk-me-up.

It was to the car rental company to pick up our car after breakfast, officially starting our momijigari vacay to Nikko. The drive was approximately 3 hours. The timing was perfect and we arrived on time for traditional soba lunch at Santate Soba Nagahataan.

Santate Soba Nagahataan is one of the most famous soba restaurants in Nikko. This place serves nothing but buckwheat soba, so if you are one who loves variety, you need to manage your expectation when visiting. :)

As for dessert, we had kiwis! :D

Day 5: Slurping Udon at Tsurutontan

There was still time for some udon at Tsurutontan at Haneda Airport before our flight back to Singapore.

The bowls of udon are bigger than our faces. :D

Slurping up the bowls of goodness. Till our next cousins' trips!

Day 5: Treetop Luncheon at Yuiga Doxon (唯我独尊)

Lin said we are going for lunch at this omnipotent sounding place called 唯我独尊. Our expression when we arrived... :)))

We love very natural and rustic details in this establishment. :)

If you need more spice. ;)

Yuiga Doxon's signature omurice. :)

This has to to be one of the most impressionable meals we had for this trip. :D

Day 5: Flowery Morning :)

This morning we drove to Farm Tomita to check out the summer blooms. :) The colors and the scents are just uplifting.

Drying the flowers allow us to admire the beauty of the flowers a little while more. :)

It's the season of lavender and this means we get to savour lavender and vanilla ice cream! :D

We are surrounded by flowers everywhere we go. :))) A sunflower patch awaits us outside Farm Tomita. :D

One thing I love about self drive is stopping whenever and wherever we want when we find something that catches our interest. A few mins drive took us to another park that gives us an aerial view of Furano. :)
