Day 9: Ramen Please! :)

It's our last day in Tokyo and we are having ramen at Ichiran Ramen. :) Early birds spared the queue. :)))

We purchased our meal ticket from the vending machine. :)

Next we find a vacant seat. :) The lighted "空" means empty/vacant.

Cubicle seats provide privacy to diners, especially those who dine on their own. But erm, I prefer dining in groups. ;)

After paying for our food at the vending machine, we needed to circle our preference for our ramen. :)

Egg to go with our ramen. :)

I like the qq ramen in such flavourful broth. :D

Satisfying. :D

Day 5: Osaka, We're Back! :D

What we did upon arriving at Osaka:
Checked into Marriott Courtyard
Checked out Orange Street
Shopping at Dotonbori

and finally dinner. :) So much for an afternoon!

We were totally drained and needing some comfort food. :) Yes, yes to udon at Tsurutontan Soemoncho. :)

Reviews had it that Tsurutontan Soemoncho is always packed during meal times and the queue extends out of the store! We thought we could avoid the queue by having late dinner...but everyone's thinking the same. :) Oh well, at least we are waiting indoor. :) Pat pat on our shoulders. :D

The variety of udon offerings at Tsurutontan Soemoncho is amazing. It's hard to decide and our grumbling tummies aren't helping. :O

Mom opted for tempura udon while Beanie settled for curry tonkatsu udon. The man loves Japanese curry. :) We ooh and ah at the serving size! :D

Carnabora udon for us. :)

And something light...sliced beef udon. :)

This left me some space for soy soft serve. :)

On a side note, we visited this tiny but pretty flower shop at Orange Street this afternoon. :) Inspiration for our new store which is just as tiny or maybe even tinier! :D

I like the barn feel to this store. :) Pinning it on my inspiration board. ;)

Day 1: Getting Prep for Hanami :)

Say hello to our annual family trip! :) Hanami, here we come!

Lin & I were happy to be served mushroom wraps as snack onboard SQ. They used to serve this on red eye flights to Shanghai, and sadly they stopped for quite a while...This wasn't a red eye flight but a 8am one. I hate early morning flights. :( We didn't sleep till 3am as we were clearing some work matters and had to wake up at 5.30am to catch the flight. Such insane hours...Note to self, never take such early morning flights again. :)

We peeled off some of the wrap, saving our "tickets" for better gluten/soy stuff! Mushrooms & cheese fillings can't go wrong. :)

Great to be back at Grand Hyatt Roppongi. :) I miss my buckwheat pillow!

Cherry blossoms at GH's lobby. :)

A prelude to our Hanami chase! ;D

We wasted no time in prepping ourselves for this Hanami chase. Everything must look good and that means us as well. :)))

Dropped into Kakimoto Arms for hair color and treatment as we had 2.5 hours to spare before dinner. Besides it was much needed after a 7 hour journey. :)

The place was packed on a Sunday. :O

Oooo...spot the huge ranunculus!

We helped ourselves to these beverages while waiting. :) Water for a really dehydrated me. : /

I only managed to capture a small section of the place. Do check out this salon if time permits. :)

And after 2.5 hours, my hair went from red to chocolate. I'm liking the new color much better as I don't suit red hair very well. Felt so refreshed after the whole session. I actually fell asleep while my hair was being washed and during the massage. My hair says "ありがとう (agrigato)!"

Lin & Patrick raved about this Korean yakiniku place that serves prime Japanese beef. Can't wait to try it out. :)

Han no Daidokoro is well endorsed. :)))

Let's see...

No funny parts please...

We were all ready to dig in!

Our starter. :)

Let the meaty feast begin! :D

The beef smelt good...:) I was worried our hair will smell too, but such concerns were redundant. :)

Do you have soup at least for one meal a day? We do! Oxtail soup. :)

We complete our meal with cheesy tteokbboki :)

I think we need a bigger serving! :D
