Day 5: Osaka, We're Back! :D

What we did upon arriving at Osaka:
Checked into Marriott Courtyard
Checked out Orange Street
Shopping at Dotonbori

and finally dinner. :) So much for an afternoon!

We were totally drained and needing some comfort food. :) Yes, yes to udon at Tsurutontan Soemoncho. :)

Reviews had it that Tsurutontan Soemoncho is always packed during meal times and the queue extends out of the store! We thought we could avoid the queue by having late dinner...but everyone's thinking the same. :) Oh well, at least we are waiting indoor. :) Pat pat on our shoulders. :D

The variety of udon offerings at Tsurutontan Soemoncho is amazing. It's hard to decide and our grumbling tummies aren't helping. :O

Mom opted for tempura udon while Beanie settled for curry tonkatsu udon. The man loves Japanese curry. :) We ooh and ah at the serving size! :D

Carnabora udon for us. :)

And something light...sliced beef udon. :)

This left me some space for soy soft serve. :)

On a side note, we visited this tiny but pretty flower shop at Orange Street this afternoon. :) Inspiration for our new store which is just as tiny or maybe even tinier! :D

I like the barn feel to this store. :) Pinning it on my inspiration board. ;)

Dumplings for Our Cousins, Wrapped with Love :)

Dumplings for our cousins, wrapped with love. :) Lin & I were over zealous and we made too many... :)))

Some pan fried ones...

Steamed grouper

Steamed pomfret

Charlotte & Shawn bought mom a birthday cake! An early celebration for her. :))) Plain looking cake? Nah...

The candle gave it an ultra sparkly boost

More importantly, it was filled with durian pulp. :)

A rather unsuccessful selfie. :) But Shawn looked good, so I'm posting it nonetheless. ;)

We polished off our Sunday indulgence with an ultra sour lemon sorbet. It got Charlotte's face all crinkled! Sorry guys, I added too much lemon juice. :))) Lol!

Day 2: Late Lunch at Oomura 大むら

Oomura serves delicious soba and tonkatsu pork cutlets. :) It's suited for one who is super duper HUNGRY as their serving portion is huge! *.* Our tummies had barely digested the strawberries and we were eating again...

Lin and I shared a Waraji Don. The pork cutlet was crispy on the outside and tender & succulent on the inside. :)

What better day to have Nabe Udon than on a windy day. :)

Wendy opted for Ebi Udon. The size of the prawn was a L & it was v fresh. :)))

Tina's the Birthday Girl! :)

Tina's the b'day girl! We celebrated a day earlier as she had to fly off to Changmai for biz trip on Sunday. Somehow her name's Tuna on the b'day cake??? :)))

Happy & Blessed B'day Tina dearest! Thank you for being an A-star friend. Our lives are brighten because of you. May love, joy & laughter surround you all year round!

I was secretly hoping & plotting we would celebrate her b'day at some Korean restaurant but the b'day girl chose Japanese... And so Japanese cuisine it was, at Itacho sushi. :)))

大年初六 - 迷你饺子宴 (Mini Dumplings Feast)

Tonite, we had a mini jiaozi (dumplings) feast at home! :) It was a wet evening and dumplings with udon in piping hot broth was comforting. :)

What's your fav fillings for dumplings btw? :) Lin & I love minced pork with plenty of chives & cabbage. :D

A Quick Christmas Get-Together at Watami

Our Christmas dinner with Jamie, Rose, Linda & Esther on Friday was a really quick one. :)We had to go over to a client's place to decorate his bridal car. :)

Chawamushi & Skewers

Ishiyaki Black Pepper Beef Rice & Tokyo Gyudon

Kankoku Buthechige & Tempura Udon

Lin & I finished our dinner in an hour. While the ladies continued their merry making, we went about to decorate a bridal car. :) I wonder what the both of us missed out...... *.*

Last Day of November :)

How did you spend your last day of November? :) Lin and I met up with Wendy for dinner near her workplace. :) She was "invisible" for a month??? Perhaps it's almost 8pm, the queue at Itacho Sushi Changi Airport T3 wasn't that long.

The selection for the 3 of us:

Wendy finished her meal off with mini eel rice while we finished ours with a bowl of beef udon. :) A simple Friday can be sooooo good! :)

Quick Lunch Fix at Tonkatsu Ginza Bairin

Lin and I did a quick lunch at Tonkatsu Ginza Bairin. It's a place where we walked past it umpteen times but never once stepped in. We finally did it today. :)

Lin and I shared a bowl of special Katsu-Don and Buta-ten Udon. Yummmm on the first few bites...but because they are deep fried, they became a little overwhelming after a while.

Totally stuffed & guilty at the end of it all... *.*
