Feasting Away 2012! :)

Rather than jostling with the crowd to count down to the new year, we feasted the last day of 2012 away, with our dearest cousins & loved ones. :) The theme was DIY sushi making.

 

It's always good to play safe to have ready to eats, in case our sushi making flops. :)))

 

We found this kawaii Hello Kitty fishcakes at Mediya and we just gotta buy it. Faith & Jarius finished them all... *.*

We ended 2012 on a sweet note. Glico strawberry ice cream coated with chocolate and beancurd. :)

 

 2012 has been a tough year but we praise God for seeing us through! :)

Yakitori!

Lin and I like yakitori. It's such a tasty, fuss free (to us as we need not do anything) finger food. ;) We would like to share with everyone this place, Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) in Tokyo.

Omoide Yokocho is a small alley filled with small shops selling nothing but Yakitori. You will be spoilt for choice! :) The narrow lanes, the limited seating capacity in each shop and the smoke from the sizzling meat evokes a scene of the late 1940s. Very nostalgic.

You need not stick to one yakitori store. You can hop to the next. :) Each store sells different types of yakitori. ;)

These cherry tomatoes wrapped with bacon strips are really yummy! :D

The grilled scallops were simply succulent! :)

We love fried rice. ;)

I would strongly recommend anyone who's going to Tokyo to check out this place! :) The place might be redeveloped in the near future and hence do visit the place while it's still around.

We were thrilled when Patrick invited us for yakitori dinner this evening! :)The venue: Kato Fusion, #04-05 Cuppage Plaza Singapore. Unfortunately, it was disappointing. The yakitori were quite saltish, nothing spectacular and the service was blah. Plus, the place is not camera friendly, i.e no photos-taking allowed. I cannot understand why some restaurants do not allow custy to take photos. Seriously I would have ordered more if they allowed me to capture my dining experience. We will not visit the place again. : I

Goodbye Business Suits & Killer Heels

Finally took the BIG leap forward. Relieved, excited, apprehensive. That kind of sum up my feelings at the moment, having chose to leave a cushy work environment, not knowing what's going to happen next. However there is one thing that I'm certain, i.e God is in full control. "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future - Jeremiah 29:11. :)

I was pleasantly surprised by the turnout of colleagues who attended a last minute farewell drink session organized by my immediate head (he was away). Thank you all who attended. And so the first round of farewell party....

The restaurant overlooks the Singapore River. It has three private rooms. However they were all booked. I was very happy with the table we were allocated. See the pic above. :) It was tucked in a cosy corner. :)

I give an extra star for this personalized welcome message from the restaurant staff. :)
