Sat Lunch at Newton Food Centre with Mom

Today is a day when we only want a bowl of sliced fish mee sua (Lin), bee hoon (mine) and porridge (mom). :) Nothing fanciful but tasty & light.

We get our fix from Song Kee at Newton Food Centre. :) There's always plenty of fresh sliced fishes in each bowl. Nom nom nom...

Lin's must order everytime we are here - popiah. :)

More Chinese Food for Lin

Saw Pauline two days in a row. Woohoo! :) We did Chinese food at Paradise Inn as Lin wanted Chinese cuisine. :)

Because of our heavy dim sum lunch, we opted for a bowl of simple sweet potato porridge. :)

The hotplate tofu with preserved veg went really well with the porridge. I was too stuffed from lunch and didn't take fancy to the fried wasabi prawns. Pauline likes the coffee pork ribs.

There's always tummy space for soups. We had winter melon soup this evening as Pauline's under the weather. *.* So flavourful. :)

The only qualms we had with the venue was the bad air conditioning. It was hoooooot, we were perspiring. :( We couldn't stay on for dessert. *.*

We headed opposite to Cold Stone Creamery for ice cream instead. :)

Lunch Date with Emma Joy at Tung Lok Classics

We did lunch with a special friend, Emma Joy (Jamie's daughter) today. :) Such a cutie pie!

It's Lin and my first visit and we kind of like the dim sum here.

Some steaming good stuff: beancurd roll with shrimps, har kows, scallops dumplings with shrimps and Chiu Chow fen guo

We always eat steamed custard buns. So pan fried ones were an awesome change! I love it. Emma too! :D

Crispy taro strips with soft and panfried carrot cake. Nice change here as well. Egg tarts were average but Emma couldn't seem to have enough of them. She was pleased she had 1.5 egg tarts. The other 0.5 went to Lin. ;)

We also ordered spinach with peanut & sesame sauce, five spices tofu cubes, roasted pork and Shanghai-style wok fried nian gao. 3 ladies and a dolly could certainly eat this much! :D

Lin & I shared mango pomelo sago with coconut ice cream. ;)

Ooooo I'm already looking forward to the next lunch date with Emma! :D

Lin's Back in Time to Celebrate Our Nation's Birthday!

Lin's back in time to celebrate National Day and she has cravings for

1) satays and

2) nasi lemak :)))

And so she has it... :) Pauline & NC queued 45 mins for these pork & chicken satays. *.*

Mom & Lidia prepared mid wings & eggs,

Kuning fish & curry veg,

fishcakes & otaks,

peanuts, ikan bilis & nasi lemak chilli.

 That's not all. ;) We had watermelon, agar agar and durian puffs (compliments from Ed & Wendy). :)

Tina bought Garrett popcorns which Koka stole one and was really happy about it... :D

Happy Birthday Singapore and in Lin's words, "It's great to be home!" :)

Buffet Dinner at Rise

This evening, we did a celebration & energy booster dinner at Rise, Marina Bay Sands Hotel. We celebrate the courage of those who took the leap of faith to move out of our comfort zone and venture into something totally new. It was also a much needed "fuel" for some after draining weeks/months.

I thought I would be late due to an overun at a client's meeting but I was the first! ;)

Walked one round & was happy to see a wide selection of food. Not that I eat alot, I don't now actually due to age? But it's always splendid to see huge variety. :)

I enjoyed my evening but somehow my heart was a little burdened. I can't help feeling a little pity we have to move because of certain circumstances. Changes are inevitable and we just have to take them positively. The next destination will be better, so far for me at least. :) Praise God.

Monday Lunch at Cedele

Mom & I did a quick lunch at Cedele before going for E&T's soleminzation. :)

The lunch set came with a choice of coffee/tea, soup of the day and free flow of bread. :)

Earl Grey Lavender and Organic Depot Brew

Assorted bread, saffon clam chowder soup and apple pumpkin soup

Mom went healthy with Tofu Miso Linguine. :) It was actually very tasty. :) In fact I like it quite alot.

I had a Rose Laksa Linguine - spicy tomato basil linguine topped with shredded Burmese curry chicken & finished with garlic & shallot flakes, toasted sesame seeds, coriander leaves & lime juice. Have it only if you are super hungry! ;) I was struggling towards the end...

Quick Tea Break at Jones the Grocer

I was bored to tears yesterday.... It's really strange friends take Lin & myself as one entity and call us up only when twos are in town. :( I looked through my contact list and wondered who to call. Thank goodness I managed to catch JY and we had a quick tea break at Jones the Grocer. And I managed to get Ann to pick up an "abandoned puppy" for drinks & dinner. What a Friday...

JY needed coffee after a physically, mentally & emotionally draining week. I needed choc & ice cream to perk myself up. So here we have it. :)

And we shared chicken wings. :)
