Short Respite at Villa Song

Any weekend getaway is a luxury for us now. Shortage of reliable & trusted staff made long vacation impossible for now at least...

This weekend we checked out Villa Song. :)

Somehow it felt a little like the townhouses we stayed in London. :)

The bed was comfy but not the pillows. Lin had interrupted sleeps, while I slept right through. :))) The week hadn't been easy...

The bathroom wasn't fancy and it doubled up as my little floral corner. ;)

View from our room. :)

Our stay at Villa Song came with complimentary breakfast. :)

Beef pho for our first day. :)

Our breakfast on the second morning. :)

We took the hotel shuttle boat out to District 1 too. :)

Hoa & Todd dropped by at Villa Song to say hi & bye. :) And they brought us 3 pomelos. :)

Weekend Wedding in Ho Chi Minh :)

This weekend, we were off to Ho Chi Minh for Hoa Lan & Todd's wedding. :) What better reason to visit Vietnam again!

I was scrambling to get a blue dress as we were "informed" of the dresscode one week before the big day! The dresscode: Your most glamourous party attire. Something blue, white, purple or pink.

Our pressie for the couple, a bridal posy & boutonniere created by me! :)))

Thank goodness the flowers survived the journey from New Zealand, Taiwan and Singapore to...Ho Chi Minh.

The couple who loves dancing. :)

Friends from everywhere flew in to celebrate Hoa & Todd's wonderful marriage. :)

Wishing you both a marriage filled with love, joy & care. May your love grow deeper each day! :)

Cám ơn for letting us be part of this most important occasions in your lives. :)

On a side note: NEVER NEVER have your wedding at Elisa. It's a junk boat with JUNK SERVICE. It had been a traumatic experience for the couple. The  management failed to deliver what was stated in the contract, held the couple hostage on the boat and even assaulted the couple at the end of the celebration! The couple had ensured the safety of their guests by sending them off to another venue before things spiralled out of hand and the police had to step in to assist. Absolutely bad taste Elisa!

Mookata ;)

Our mundane Tuesday was spiced up with Wendy over Mookata at Tom Yum Kungfu. Mookata = Thai steamboat. :D Food cooked over charcoal seems to taste better? :)

Other add-ons: Pineapple rice

Green curry chicken

We love all types of steamboat and bbq. It didn't matter we smelt at the end of the session as it was end of the day! :) Time for a good scrub!

On a side note: If Tom Yum Kungfu serves Thai desserts, our dinner would have been more complete. ;)
