Winston & Vicky had raved about Wuzhen a couple of times and so we took a short trip there with heighten expectation. :))) The drive from Shanghai to Wuzhen was approximately 2 hours.
Vicky's lovely PA, Angel booked us into the Waterside Resort Wuzhen. We weren't blown away.
The check-in at the Wuzhen Visitor Centre was chaotic. Regardless of which inn, resort or hotel you've booked, you need to check in at the Wuzhen Visitor Centre. There wasn't a queue to speak of. You have to grab whoever you see at the reception desk. After which, you will be taken to your accommodation in a buggy. There isn't any porter to assist you with your baggage, so travelling light is the key here. It's not easy lugging your luggages along stony pathways & stairs. *.*
No service aside, the suites were sparten & lacking in ambience...flowers & foliages would have make such a great difference wouldn't it?

Traditional vanity set :)
Bedroom slippers. The ones for kiddos are cute! :)
Quaint bathroom
No time to soak in the bath...
Our resort at nite :)
Our suite has a kitchen for us to cook a "storm".
Our pantry was well stocked as usual. :)
Our electric pot & mini rice cooker came in handy. :) Lobster bisque & rice.
Our packed meal: roasted chicken prepared specially for us by a chef from Fairmont Shanghai. We brought the braised eggs from a tiny stall at Wuzhen.
Tina & Ann waited patiently for dinner. If only there's a TV in the living room...
There wasn't much to do here at nite in Wuzhen. We made ourselves a pot of hot chrysanthemum tea, indulged in some girly talks and off to bed...
