We have less than a day in Taichung today and we wasted no time in checking out the city after a quick breakfast at Hotel One. :)
City bikes for rent. We saw these in Hohhot too. I think it's a pretty cool system. These bikes are available for rent for a specific time frame, and if you need more time, simply cycle to the next bicycle stop and rent another bike.
Amber's mom lamented about the empty government house & said it should be converted into a hotel. :) I can imagine how majestic the hotel would be. :)
There are two things one need to purchase when they are in Taichung:
1) Sunshine biscuits (太阳饼)
2) Pineapple pastries
I'm not able to share the place we bought the sunshine biscuits as Amber's mom brought us there. However we bought our pineapple pastries from Dawn Cake(日出). We went to the outlet at the old eye hospital. :) Every corner at this outlet is photo worthy. ;)
Gorgeous ceiling
Lots of effort has been put into Dawn's packaging. The designs on every wrapper are beautiful.
The ribbons are gorgeous too.
Dawn has a fabulous wedding collection of pastries too. :)
Friendly staff are here to assist. :)
Our loot for the morning. :)
We can't leave Taichung without trying Chun Shui Tang (春水堂).
This place spans two levels. :)
Here's what we had! :D Full tummies are happy bellies. :)))
Signature carrot cakes
Signature bee hoon
Never tired of these beef noodles. :)
And of course bubble tea! I love honey green tea with lots of bubbles! :D
Goodbyes are always difficult. We just had to meet Amber one more time before leaving Taichung. :(
Ice chocolate is indeed an indulgence for us. :)
And babies too. :)))
We left Taichung late and hence arrived Taipei late as a result. We headed straight to Shi Yang San Fang (食养三房) for dinner with Elaine, Jack & Ethan. :)
This place eludes tranquillity.
We sat at the upper deck the last time round. :)
This evening, we were seated at the lower deck.
This is Ethan :)
He's no longer shy. In fact, he's getting cheeky & more playful. :)))
Every dish here is an art. :)
Scallops with mushrooms

It has been a long day! :) And we finally checked into W Hotel.
Good nite Taipei. :)
