The rain clouds love us. :))) It would be rainy throughout our stay in Hong Kong. *.* But nothing's gonna stop us from a morning hike at Lamma island! :D It's our maiden trip to Hong Kong's outlying islands. Woohoo! :D
Lin & Charlotte took anti-motion pills for a 30min ferry ride. :)
Spot Lamma Island. :)
This is a familiar sight from some TVB dramas. :)))
OMG!!! The wind is punishing!!!!!! :O Charlotte and Lydia ran so quickly for coverage. :))) Yahui, Lin & I took our own sweet time to brave the cold. #$%&@#$%
I'm so mismatch like a village gal! :))))
Our village head. ;)
Every corner is pic worthy here! :)))
The cold made us hungry! *.* Plus Grandmother's Tofu Dessert isn't in sight yet. We can always have 2 brekkie. :D There's enough room. :))) Thus, here we are, at Tak Restaurant for the first round of breakfast. :)
Breakfast set for us again. :)
Yes to hot milk tea! :D
Yahui is forever one step behind us. Today, she's having shredded ham macaroni with sunny side up and soft bread. :)))
Lydia's spam & sunny side up instant noodles. :)
Did you grow up with five spice pork cubes? We did! :) Haven't taken them for a long time! :))) Charlotte & Lin had it with instant noodles while I had it with bee hoon. :)
Ok, the search for Grandmother's Tofu Dessert continues.... :)
There's something about mom & pop store. :)))
Besides bicycles, this vehicle is a common sight on Lamma island. :)
Found! :D
I chose to sit by the greens cos it's nicer for pic taking. Agree? :)))
Oops where's our tofu hua??? :)))
Charlotte, Lin & I prefer eating our tofu hua layer by layer. :)
Lydia & Yahui like them mashed. :)))
Our goal was to hike to Sok Kwu Wan Ferry Pier. :) When we say hike, we really mean it! ;) Really.
A failed attempt by Charlotte & Yahui to pretend sitting. :)))
Pat on our shoulders! We reached Sok Kwu Wan side in about 2 hours. :))) Time for seafood! ;) There are a number of seafood restaurants but we chose Rainbow Seafood for its wide variety of seafood. :))) Not that we are game to try everything :)))
Because it was highly recommended by the waitress, we just gotta try. :)
Lydia can't do without meat. Hence these beef cubes. Yum! :)
Steamed scallops with garlic & vermicelli :)
Unique combi of crab & glutinous rice. :D
We didn't expect the Rainbow fish to be so huge!!! :O
Kudos to us! :)))
Rainbow Seafood Restaurant diners get complimentary ferry ride back to Hong Kong. ;) We would be taking the 2.45pm ferry, giving us some time to shop for local produce. :)
We scored lots of dried produce from this store. :)
Time to head back to Hong Kong island. :)
Such a bad idea to sit on the open top deck!!!! Charlotte headed indoor shortly after while the rest of us braved on! :)))
Yahui & Lydia put their brolly to good use!!! :D
Our faces are frozen... *.*
The trash bin is decorated with Rainbow Ferry's stickers. :D
Lamma Island has exceeded our expectation on every level. We didn't imagine we could have so much fun in this tiny island. :) The second half of day will be shopping at Causeway Bay! Someone is excited. :)))
Oh, did I mentioned we love having 5 people in a cab? :D
