Day 4 - 6: Into the Bamboo Forest at Shou Zhuo (守拙精品民宿) :)

The late evening drive to Shou Zhuo in Ping Le was a daunting one. Lighting was poor and an old lady was knocked down by a car from the opposite traffic, right before our eyes. *.* We wanted to stop to help, only to be stopped by our driver. He advised us against doing so as it's dangerous. Lin & I kept our eyes wide open throughout the journey...

Shou Zhuo is nestled within the bamboo forest. Think eco. Lighting is bare minimum and of course heating too. Our butler, Tu Dou (potato) brought over portable heater that proved ineffective in heating up our bamboo house. It was TOOOOO COLD....Lin and I took the ground floor bed while Pauline & Annie headed upstairs. :) Tu Dou brought over some bedtime snacks. :)

It was so cold, we ran upstairs for some warmth. We had our bedtime snacks in the mok sisters' room too. 

Finally a "glamping" trip. :D

Day 5: 早安！Here's a little tour of Shou Zhuo. :) This place is a museum in itself. Every fixture has its own history.

Shou Zhuo's resident cat. :D It has a charming house of its own too. ;) Check out it's portrait and its fish. If so much effort was put into Xiao Hua's house, what more the place we are staying in. :)

Shou Zhuo grow its own veggies. :D A veg plot greeted us upon entering in. Of course we coudn't see the plot in the dark. :))

The activity room and dining room is on the second level of the main house. :)

Let's have breakfast before I show you the other areas of the property. :)

Shou Zhuo's boss believes food should nourish not only the body, but the soul and the mind. 

Our butler Tu Tou gives us a "love letter" everyday. :)))

Before we headed out, Tu Dou got us baskets of heated charcoals. These are hand warmers! :D

While Tu Dou gets busy preparing our handwarmers, we were busy feeding on melon seeds. :D

It's dinner time after all the activities. :))) Today we are smarter. We actually showered after our hike in the afternoon, because when nite falls, it's freezing and bathing is impossible. *.*

Tonite, we are gonna set up the fireplace in our bamboo house. The electric heater didn't work that well. Yeah to warm & toastie room! :D

Day 6: 再见啦

Shou Zhuo brings us back to 
basic, helping us to enjoy simple pleasure which we have long forgotten.
