Day 6: From Pingle and Back to Chengdu :)
While driving to Li family's courtyard, we came across a tea plantation. Of course we stopped for some pics. Lol! :)))
The drive to the Li family's courtyard wasn't too far from Shou Zhuo. There place is guarded by this little police post. :)
The place has lost the glory of its past. What's left are a few households, mostly senior folks and poorly maintained houses.
There's a little shop at the entrance of the Li's courtyard. It's run by a friendly uncle who was busy taking pics of us. :))) All the baskets and other bamboo household items are made by him.
The last stop for us was Pingle Ancient Town. :)
Pingle Ancient Town isn't worth going...there wasn't much to see other than construction. The place feels kind of man-made. I did tried to take some photos to make this journey here a little more worth it. :)))
Many shops were selling these biscuits and of course....we didn't buy. :)))
We wasted no time in getting back to Chengdu. :))) And the first thing we did was to have hotpot dinner at Shu Jiu Xiang (蜀九香火锅酒楼 -玉林店)
There are 2 types of soup bases to choose from: qing you (清油) or niu you (牛油). No doubt we chose the latter. :)))
This sesame oil dip is supposedly to reduce the spiciness of the hotpot. :)))
Cheers to our girly trip. :))) Apple vinegar doesn't taste that bad afterall. :D
Is that all for the nite? Nope! We missed lunch today remember? :))) So it's Haagan Dazs time! :)))
