Pauline's Savoring the Last Day of Her Vacation
Pauline and I went all the way to Tanjong Pagar Market to see Annie packing her ice kacang stall. *.* Pauline had wanted to eat Annie's ice kacang for one last time before it closed for good. Lol! :)))
Anyway by the time we were there, there wasn't much choice left for lunch and so we had ramen at Tonkotsu King. :) The place was still pretty packed at 2pm plus. :)
We had Tonkotsu ramen. Lovely broth & very tender pork slices. You can opt for their flavored egg at a nominal cost or go for the free eggs. There are complimentary bean sprouts too!
Despite complaining of being stuffed, Pauline and I could still do afternoon tea at Flor. :))) Every minute was precious for her!
If every afternoon can be this good! :)

Sleeping Beauty
A sleepy Koka is a grouchy beauty. She needs her afternoon nap and the swaying Amaranthus doesn't bother her... :))) Sweet dreams baby!

B'day Treat, From Pauline :)
Pauline's back from Taiwan & treated us to Le Bistrot Du Sommelier for our b'day lunch. :D
It's a beefy menu today and poor Pauline has got to settle with Smoked Haddock with Potato Waffles. *.* She can't take beef...
Beef with Mashed Potato in Filo Pastry - delightful :)
Red Wine Braised Beef Cheeks with Carrots and Mushrooms, with Potato on the side - the portion was too big... *.*
Pauline gave us a mini surprise which got me thrilled for a few minutes! :))) Sweet. :) Two profiteroles with candles...
We had planned for a relaxing Tues. But Pauline ended running errands with me. :))) That's what good friends are for! ;)
Thank you Pauline for everything! :D

We celebrated 元宵 + birthday + house cooling (we will moving to our new place in another 2 months time) with our maternal family this evening at our humble residence. :) And we wanted Grace to experience CNY! :D She had dengue on the 1st day of lunar new year and was admitted to CDC. *.*
The turnout was fantastic! :) I do love my family v much! ;)
Bak bak & family :)

Last loi hei for this year! :D
Lin & I bought our own b'day "cake", not knowing Shawn & Lixian got us b'day "cake" from the same shop too! :))) Happy B'day to us again! :) We need a calculator to count our age now... *.*
Koka was sulking the whole nite. It was only much later in the nite that mom realized we forgotten to feed her...
A happy Koka earlier in the evening, waiting for our VIP's arrival. :)
新年快乐! Happy & Blessed B'day! And thank you God for blessing this home and giving us countless & precious memories! :D
Celebrating CNY with Our Tithes Accounting Team
Our tithes team headed to GT Restaurant for CNY lunch after the church service today. :) Our team may be small but we do make efforts to bond. :)
It's our first visit and Lin & I were pretty amused by the small place & its dated, artificial floral arrangement. :)))
Anyway, here's what we had:
Sea bass drizzled with nonya sauce, salted egg prawns and prawn paste roll (hay chor).
Stir-fried nai bai & vermicelli (it was dry & hard)
Perhaps the most interesting dish of this meal - peanut dumplings with oat in coconut milk. :)
I don't think Lin & I would be coming here again. We would prefer dining at a zhi char stall instead, for the price we paid.

Peking Duck Feast with Mom, Beanie & 大姨
After a heavy b'day luncheon with our friends, we headed to Imperial Treasure Super Peking Duck Restaurant for a Peking duck feast with mom, Beanie & big aunty. :) Lin & I were still pretty stuffed despite having the dinner at 8pm, which was the second seating for the restaurant. *.*
The place was packed as everyone was still celebrating the 14th day of the lunar new year.
A lot of our fav dishes ran out by the second seating, which was just as well, as we could try new dishes.
Seafood tofu claypot & stewed veg with crabmeat & conpoy
Seafood tofu soup, black pepper beef slices and stewed duck vermicelli
We were given complimentary dessert for being patient custy. :)))
First complimentary dessert - egg custard buns
Second complimentary dessert - red bean paste with dumpling (Lin & I could only stare at it *.* - too much food for the day)
And back home, we had more b'day cakes... :)

Blessed & Happy B'day to US! :D
Happy B'day to us! I did a floral arrangement for Lin as she's been complaining there wasn't any blooms at home for the lunar new year. And since we are having a couple of b'day celebrations at home this weekend, I reckon some colorful flowers at home would be perfect! :D I used my fav ranunculous & craspedia (they're in season now), calla, hydrangea, eustomas & tea leaves.
This afternoon's celebration was a special one, as we celebrated it with Edwin & Sonia too! Sonia seemed very pleased with this mini surprise celebration for her. She's borne in the leap year... :)))
Praise God for His amazing grace & gifts - friends. They made our lives so much richer.
The circle gets bigger with these little ones. :)
Of course we need to mention what we had for the B'day cum CNY luncheon:
Beef Balls Bee Hoon Soup
Braised Pork Belly Buns (which I forgot to snap...)
Braised Quail Eggs
Chives & pork dumplings
Prawn Paste Rolls (Hay Chor)
Birthdays are wonderful reminders of God's blessings throughout the years. May we continue to grow in His love. Happy b'day to all Feb babies! :) And a Gorgeous lunar new year to one & all! :D

2nd Steamboat Party in a Week!
This is our 2nd steamboat party in a week! :) I'm not grumbling as I love hotpots & I love the company! :) This is our usual annual CNY steamboat/hotpot clique: TG, Joanna, Ling Lee, Sheau Wen, Lin & me. I can't remember how it all started and how long we have been doing this.
Again, over estimation of food... *.* I think we can lay off steamboat for a while...
There's a child in each of us. :)))
Loi hei to an awesome year with abundant blessings! Oh and Happy B'day to Lin & me!
As for dessert, we can't be more Singaporean than that! Sheau Wen got us durians! Lol!

B'day Treat from Yvonne & Tommy
Yvonne & Tommy treated Lin & I to fish head hotpot at Tian Wai Tian this evening. I'm trying my best to enjoy the dinner even though I'm still upset by afternoon's road bullying incident. :(
We heart the soup but was surprised to fish out deep fried garoupa. We prefer the non-fried version but according to Lin, there wasn't such an option.
The prawn paste roll (hay chor) was lovely. I love the crunchy chestnut and it wasn't too meaty at all. :)
I wasn't blown away by the prawns & beancurd as it wasn't anything out of the ordinary.
There isn't any place for dessert in the area. We headed to Udders at MyVillage for some sweet treats! :)
Thank you Yvonne & Tommy for trying to make my Wednesday a little better. :)

Road Bully - PC2727T
I am feeling so wronged & victimized, especially more so when there is no channel to lodge complaints against road bullies in Singapore.
Vehicle PC2727T was behind me in the carpark of Mt Elizabeth Hospital. I wanted to park my car in a lot which was just vacated. The driver of PC2727T honked at me but I had no clue what he wanted. I thought I might be blocking his way and so quickly parked my car in the lot. The driver got out of his car and started shouting at me, to the bewilderment of the other drivers in the carpark and me. I told him he need not shout and to request politely for my lot. He was shouting that he could not valet park his vehicle, which I have no idea why. As I was rushing to see a friend before her head surgery at 1pm (it was about 12.40 pm-12.50 pm then), I did not want to quarrel with him and got out of the lot to let him have it.
I was afraid and concerned that if I did not, he would scratch my car. If he
could be so aggressive as to get out of the vehicle to shout at me, the
possibility of him doing that is quite high. I did not want to risk my car
being scratched. I was also not sure if he would hit me too.
Another driver at the valet counter said the outburst from the driver of PC2727T was uncalled for and I should not have given up my lot to a bully. I was running out of time to see a dear friend.
I later realized that the driver of PC2727T was simply waiting to pick up his passengers...he does not need to park his vehicle at all.
I later realized that the driver of PC2727T was simply waiting to pick up his passengers...he does not need to park his vehicle at all.
I wish there would be a channel for lodging complaints against such road bullies in Singapore in the near future.
Utterly disgusted!
