Day 3: Savouring Kyoto Style Sushi at Izuju

Tonite, we are having Kyoto style sushi for dinner at Izuju. :) There was a queue and we had to leave our names down on the waiting list. :) I'm tickled by Lin's calligraphy. :D

Stepped into Izuju and you are transported back to old Kyoto. :)

Waiting in door beats waiting outside. :) We kept warm by the fireplace. :)

Izuju, one of the oldest traditional sushi restaurant in Kyoto, serves the best Kyoto style sushi in Kyoto and perhaps in Japan. :)

We were seated right at the end of the room. The waitress came up to inform the antique bench can only accommodate one, and it's advisable Beanie sits on a chair instead. :))) A tiny bloom in Japanese pottery enhanced our little corner.

Steps to savour Kyoto style sushi. :)

My physical battery is flat...

Here we go. :) Kyoto style sushi...very different from the usual ones everyone's used to. :D We have:
Sabazushi - Pickled mackerel with sushi rice
Hakozushi - Box sushi

In our family, Beanie is the only one who loves sushi. :) See the happy man!

Shops closes between 6-7pm in Kyoto. We called it a day and continued snacking in our room. This sakura Calbee prawns crackers is an acquired taste. Does Sakura taste sour? Because this packet of sakura prawn crackers sure tasted so. :)))
