Day 3: Savouring Tradition at Honke Owariya

First thing first. Soba lunch at Honke Owariya. :)

Japan has probably the most number of over a century old stores. :) Honke Owariya is one of them. It has been selling soba since 1465, that is a jaw dropping 551 years! :O It's no easy feat to sustain tradition while changing with times and taking on new challenges as they come along. They have come a long way. :) Salute!

I think we missed the lunch crowd at 2.30pm, but we still gotta wait to be seated. :)

Honke Owariya's history. :) You can find out more about this store on their website listed in my post below. :)

Today's weather is ideal for hot Tempura soba!

Soba, made from the highest quality buckwheat flour. Feel safe to finish up the bowl of dashi as no artificial additives are used.

Spice up your soba to your preference. I like mine original. :)

Nothing beats a comforting bowl of soba. We feel energised once more. :)
