Golden Eagle Summit Hotel Kunming

There isn't any international brand hotel in Kunming. Hence we checked ourselves into Golden Eagle Summit Hotel. The location is convenient and it's surrounded by swanky boutiques such as Gucci, Hermes, Bottega Veneta etc etc. There must be a certain standard. :)

The rooms were spacious and the decor was pleasing. :) Relieved. :))) We were so looking forward to a good nite sleep. ;)

The bathroom was huge & clean too.

One thing raised our eyebrows though. Boxes of condoms were displayed prominently for sale on top of the dresser drawers. It makes us wonder if it's a love hotel or the hotel's efforts to encourage safe sex & if all hotels in Kunming has similar practices.

Each room came with a complimentary breakfast for 1. We needed breakfast for  another 2.  Each additional breakfast cost RMB 58 if you inform the front desk upon checking in. Otherwise the charges would be RMB 100 per person at the hotel's cafe.

The breakfast spread seemed more like lunch.  :))) Thus we just picked whatever that was light for breakfast.

Here're the stuff we tried:

Century eggs & minced pork porridge, pickled veg, bacon, ham & sausages - nothing spectacular. There wasn't much ingredients in the porridge. The bacon, ham & sausages were very oily...Putting everything together balance things out a little. ;)

Beef noodles  - generous serving of noodle, you need to share.

Noodles with veg & mushrooms - makes you feel healthy. :)

Sunny side-up & pumpkin porridge

You need to tell the chef to do "dan mian/旦面" for the sunny side-up. Otherwise they love to overcook the sunny. *.*

The pumpkin porridge brought back kiddy memories. Sweet. :)

Assorted bread & fruits

Lin loves the choc filled fluffy crossiants. The other buns aren't worth having. They were either too hard or soggy.

A good nite sleep & hearty breakfast were excellent booster to kick start our long day ahead! :D

Important note: It's advisable not to try the hotel's beauty & massage services. In Lin's words, the girls are pretty, but their skills are bad. Unless of course you wanna be stroked...you get the drift.
