Day Out with Jarius & Koka

Lin has a 4 day break before she starts work at her new place. Yippee! ^.^ We took the kids out for lunch at Canopy. :)

Our two kiddos with a third one on the way! Can't wait! :)

We couldn't decide whether to go healthy or stuff ourselves with junk. Lol. :))) So we had bruschettas & fries for starters. :D

And our mains? :)

Creamy chicken pasta & bbq chicken with broccoli & mash potato tucked underneath. :) Simple but yummy. :)

Fried Onion Eggs - Eeew Yum?

I'm not an onion person. But recently, I took a liking for fried onion eggs??? They actually go well with steamed rice or plain porridge. :)

Ingredients (serves 4):
4 eggs
1-2 onions depending on the size (I grated half the onions & sliced the other half)
1 teaspoon of soy sauce
Dash of pepper

Method:
1) Add grated onions & sliced onions into a bowl of eggs
2) Beat the eggs, mixing them with the onions
3) Add the soy sauce & dash of pepper. Mix well
4) Fry the eggs like how you would do scramble eggs. Fry till the eggs are dry.

Ready to serve! ^.^ We had this with porridge for lunch today. It's quick, simple & yum. :)

Koka, Chilling Out on a Sunday Morning

Me: Koka's 100% mommy's dog.
Beanie: Ya, at least she still kisses you. She doesn't even kiss me...

Hahahahah....:) Mom's indeed Koka's fav person in the house. She follows her everywhere, she sleeps on mom's tummy, on her lap & on her legs...She kisses her many times a day. :) When mom was down with viral fever this week, she grew even sticker, wanting to be next to her. A cough from mom will get Koka all anxious. So you can imagine Koka's reaction when mom threw up. *.* She was rushing to the bathroom to check on mom & peering into the toilet bowl to see what she threw out (as if she knew how to help her!!??) :))) She would then run back onto the bed to comfort mom by licking her face. This's the sweet sweet side of Koka... ;)

Koka's more relaxed now that mom's much better. :) This was Koka this morning, resting on mom's leg... :) I must say my mom has very smooth & fair legs! Lol! :)))

Little Emma is One! :)

Little Emma's turning one. We attended her Garden & Bug B'day bash today! :D I like to be the 1st person to give her flowers. What better way to create one myself. ;) My choice of blooms: white peacock & green carnations from Holland. I arranged the blooms in a powder blue popcorn bowl. To fit the theme, I added a fuchsia butterfly & a card with birdie background. ;)

Here's sweet Emma. ^.^ Hugs hugs...

The birthday venue was The Wine Company at Evans Road. Jamie paid lots of attention to make the b'day celebration a perfect one! There were lots of DIY. Salute to this creative mommy. ^.^

There were sweet treats for everyone, young & old! Hahahah :)))

Jamie's creation - menu & lollipop holder. :) Linda was eyeing the polka dots windmill throughout the meal. ;)

Lin & I selected roasted tomato and bacon soup as the starter and grilled cajun chicken club sandwich with salad & salmon cream spaghetti for the mains. Yum...:)

A peep at Emma's guests. :)

We thank Jamie & Malcolm for having us at the celebration. :D It such a joy to be surrounded by so many babies! ^.* Happy & blessed b'day Emma! :)

38 Degree Celsius Mid-Autumn

Mid-autumn this year was hot hot hot! : O Mom & Lin are down with high fever. :( Hence, there wasn't any viewing of moon, lighting of lanterns or tea & mooncakes appreciation even though we received lots of mooncakes from friends this year. I didn't want to savour these yums without Lin or mom.

Thank goodness, Lin's appetite wasn't affected by her high temperature. :))) She asked for the Peninsular Hotel Hong Kong's mini egg custard mooncakes this afternoon! Yeah yeah yeah! Woohoo! ^.^

It's a take home version of lao sa nai wong bao (流沙奶黃包). :) Love it, love it. :D One mouth & it's gone. ^.* Even a sickly Lin couldn't resist it. :) She's in PJ so I didn't take any pic of her. *.*

An Early Mid-Autumn Celebration

Mid-autumn falls on 22 Sep, a Wednesday this year. So we did an early celebration last Saturday with friends & their cuties. :D Most of the goodness on the table were bought from our fav eateries. ;)

Only the kong bak bao (stewed pork buns) were lovingly made by mom! She shows us how to savour these sinful goodness. :))) Poor mom has fallen ill since Sat/Sun with persistent high fever... : ( Prayfully she will get better by tomorrow to celebrate mid-autumn with us...

No one could resist these juicy dumplings from No. 56 Boat Quay. Sandra asked for more! :D

We had beef balls vermicilli from a coffeeshop at Maude Road too! :) It's one of our comfort food.

It was female power on Sat as most of our guests were females. :)))

We also invited a long lost friend whom we reconnected with recently. She's Xinyan. :) She's so feminine now, dressing in floral printed tops. ^.^ Woohoo!

Sheau Wen brought her sunshine nieces over! They had so much fun playing with Zam, Koka, Sarah & Sonia. All girls are below 5 years old. ;) How cute!

Sonia's so into money counting now! She brought her money tin everywhere she goes! Wahahahha :)))  She''ll probably be a banker like her dad! ^.* I like this candid family shot. :)

Somehow I did not capture any shots of Wendy & Edwin, Angie & Ck & Myself! How could I! I must make a mental note to capture everyone at our next gathering! *.* I must!

Chicken Porridge with Eggy from A Random Stall

In recent weeks, we've been running to the hospital to visit Mrs Ang, our econs teacher from colleage. She's getting weaker by the day and her appetite has been really poor. She's on porridge diet but she could hardly manage two - three spoons. : ( If she takes an extra spoon, we're all very happy.

Lin and I headed to Old People's Park Complex for dinner after visiting Mrs Ang and ordered a chicken porridge with eggs from some random stall. It was pretty good with lots of tender chicken pieces. :) It warmed our tummy. As long as one is healthy, even a simple bowl of chicken porridge is heavenly.

Black Pepper Beef Baked Rice

I had cravings for black pepper beef baked rice and tried making one this evening. I thought it wasn't too bad for my first attempt, but Lin hated it. *.*

Doesn't it look good? : O Say yes? :)

Ingredient (serves 2):
Sliced beef
A packet of Prima Taste Premium Black Pepper Beef Sauce
Shredded Mozzarella & Red Cheddar
Cooked rice with chicken stock (I used 2 teaspoon of concentrated chicken stock mixed with water)

Method:
Stir fry the beef according to the instruction on the packet of black pepper beef paste
Line the ramkin or bakeware with slices of beef & gravy
Layer cooked rice over it
Top it with cheese
Off to the oven at 200 degree celsius for 15-20 mins until the cheese turns golden brown

N.B: The cooked rice has to be a little wetter than usual as it still has to be thrown into the oven.

Enjoy! :D

Koka is Three!

Koka turns three today! Beanie brought the whole family for fish head hotpot at Moonstone. :) As everyone had a long day at work, we were not in the mood for pics. Hence Koka's the only one being featured in this posting. It's her b'day so we just give her all the limelight she needs! ;)

I love her cherry & polka dots top. She looks so cute in green. ^.^ Can't wait to cut her hair tomorrow. Lin said she looks like a mop! Lol! :)))

The star dish for tonight has got to be fish head hotpot. ;) The fish was fresh and the soup was flavourful. It's filled with lots of veg, enoki mushrooms, tofus and pieces of yams.

We ordered some sides too! Salted egg prawns and champagne pork ribs. They were awesome! :)
