Peking Duck Feast with Mom, Beanie & 大姨

After a heavy b'day luncheon with our friends, we headed to Imperial Treasure Super Peking Duck Restaurant for a Peking duck feast with mom, Beanie & big aunty. :) Lin & I were still pretty stuffed despite having the dinner at 8pm, which was the second seating for the restaurant. *.*

The place was packed as everyone was still celebrating the 14th day of the lunar new year.

A lot of our fav dishes ran out by the second seating, which was just as well, as we could try new dishes.

Seafood tofu claypot & stewed veg with crabmeat & conpoy

Seafood tofu soup, black pepper beef slices and stewed duck vermicelli

We were given complimentary dessert for being patient custy. :)))

First complimentary dessert - egg custard buns

Second complimentary dessert - red bean paste with dumpling (Lin & I could only stare at it *.* - too much food for the day)

And back home, we had more b'day cakes... :)

Good Morning 2013! :)

The first morning of 2013 was a glorious one! :) We kickstart the new year with cycling. ;) Singapore has beautiful parks. We just need to take time to explore.

Perhaps one of the prettiest drainages in town!

Tina, our cycling buddy

Lin's feet must be too stinky for her shoes to bear! :))) Anyway a little bruise does no harm. ;)

Our tummies rumbled after a 2 hour cycling session. Some dim sums would be gooood. :) But being last minute people, we did not make any reservation at any dim sum restaurant. Anyway we tried our luck at Imperial Treasure Cantonese Cuisine at Crowne Plaza, thinking it might be less crowded than it's sister branch in Orchard Road. It was full house! *.* Just when I thought we had no chance of savoring dim sums...and was about to walk over to Crystal Jade...the recept stopped us...ooooo...

The benefit of being a regular patron is getting a table at a fully packed restaurant especially on days such as 1 Jan. :) Yeah yeah yeah!!!

With this spread, why bother cycling? But if we do not cycle, how can we stomach these delactable dim sums? :)

Century eggs & pork congee, roasted pork belly, pan fried carrot cake

shrimp cheong fun, har gao

Teochew dumplings, chive dumplings

roast duck vermicilli soup

and custard buns :)

We finished our dim sums in 1 hour flat! :)  Let's give the table to the next dim sum lovers. :) A blessed 2013 to all!

Braised Porky Feast :)

A television program on braised pork dishes got Lin and me craving for some of these sinful, flavourful braised pork bellies! :D

So we had them tonight!!! :)

These mean pork bellies go well with buns and noodles. :)))

Time to walk off the fats... :)))

Happy Friday!

Out in the Sea?

I thought I would be less busy this week...but nah...it's the opposite. I was hence pretty glad Lin & I could take some time off work & other stuff to try out a new cycling route. :) We ended up at Punggol Promenade which overlooks the sea.

Our energy buns booster. :)))

Lin told me this is Singapore's very own Mekong River???

Grandmom Turns 87

Grandmom's turning 87 and we celebrated it at Swatow Seafood Restuarant. :) It's wonderful to see her so healthy & active and surrounded by her children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren. We can't help but thank God for the blessings.

As in all traditional Chinese b'day celebrations, we had birthday buns! These were bite size.

Other items on Grandmom's B'day menu:

Assorted meat platter

Steamed pomfret in Teochew style

Steamed prawns

Chicken with dip

Assorted stir fried vegs with lotus crisps

Noodles with chives & mushrooms = plain noodles???

Mom, Beanie & I didn't managed to stay for dessert as we had to deliver some flowers. *.*

Lastly, some pics of my family. :)
