Weekend Guest :)

This weekend, we had Mitsue over for sleepover. :) Lin & I took the opportunity to introduce Mitsue to some local breakfast delight at Serangoon Garden Market & Food Centre. We shared fishball noodles, zhui kuey, & fried carrot cake.

Mitsue loves seafood & off to Mellben we went for dinner. :D It was crabby overload for the four of us. *.* 3 staff came over to triple confirm if we are able to down 6 crabs and Rach & Lin insisted we could...

A heavy dinner warranted a lighter breakfast on Sunday. Wonton noodles & fried dough fritters. :)

Received a thank you card from Mitsue. :) We are happy she enjoyed her time in Singapore! :D Looking forward to receiving her next May.

Blessed b'day gorgeous mom-to-be! :) Hope the "maternity" dress serves her well! :D

The Eve of Christmas Eve :)

I love December. It's when everything slows down dramatically and everywhere is dressed up with pretty Christmas ornaments & fanciful lights. The daily raindrops makes this little city even more charming.

Who has the mood to work? Not me. :))) After rushing through the weekly standing floral orders, we had a mini Christmas' eve's eve's luncheon at our store. :)

Getting ready for our gift exchanges - It brings out the kid in us! We deliberated on when to open the pressies. Should we open now or wait till Boxing day? *.* We, well, caved into our curiosity....we shook the pressies, we felt the pressies, we smelt the pressies...all too much to bear...Lol!!! :D

Our working table transformed into a table of feast at the snap of the fingers. :)))

This was not all. Our neighbor, Starbucks sent some awesome beverages over for our mini celebration! :D

The eve of our Christmas' eve is a delish one! :) We headed to a festive dinner with Mitsue and Keiko at TWG ION after work.

Hungry babies...food makes Keiko really happy. :)))

We figured there's gonna be too much meat consumption the next few days. Hence something fishy for dinner this evening was welcoming. ;)

The boy needed his rice... :D

Make way for desserts please. TWG's Christmas cake was pretty interesting. I like the crunchy chocolate pearls in it, but I still love my scones. :D

A fantastic kick start to a series of celebrations this Christmas! :D

Homely Feast to Usher in the Winter Solstice (冬至)

Today's winter solstice (冬至) & Grandmom's here for dinner. :) Lin & I made jiaozi for our homely feast. It has been a while since I stepped into the kitchen and any opportunity to cook something is a treat. :)))

We love having grandmom, aunts & uncle over for meals.

Nothing beats a bowl of piping hot dumpling noodles on a cool December evening. :)

As for dessert, it has to be tang yuan (汤圆). :D My fav filling is peanut. What's yours?

Bliss... :)

Hello Again :)

Happy December!

I've been out of action here for 3 months! *.* My schedule is still ridiculous but I'm squeezing in some moments to jot down important milestones & happenings during this period lest I forget. :)

After years of struggling in the marketplace, I finally opened my flagship floral boutique in October! The journey has been exhilarating & painful at the same time. Nonetheless God has blessed Lin & I with amazing family & friends who supported us all the way. :) I can't thank Him enough.

In addition to managing store defects, my assistant Jone & I had to battle dengue in the 3rd week of our operation. The area we were in had lots of mozzies. :( Inexperienced Lin & Rachel had to hold the fort. Btw Lin had no choice as the floral boutique is our baby. Rachel could have left us but instead she took the challenge in her stride, putting in more than 10 hours a day in the shop and running to visit me & Jone in the hospital. A faithful & loyal team member - priceless.

I thank our heavenly Father for putting this team together. Each of us has our strengths & weaknesses but we complement one another so well as a team! :) I'm not the perfect boss, I recognize my flaws. I will strive to improve. ;) There will be more challenges ahead, but we will conquer each one at a time.

Hugs to Mom, Beanie, grandmom, aunts, uncles, cousins & friends for their love & prayers.

My wish for this Christmas? May we be a blessing to people around us. Oh and yes, good health too!

A Simple Mid-Autumn Nite

Lin & I can only manage a simple mid-autumn celebration with mom, Beanie, Koka & 大姨 this year. :)

Two lanterns, mooncakes from Regent Hotel, Peninsula Hotel & Ju Chun Yuan and TWG's caramel tea was all we had tonight. :)

Wishing everyone a Blessed Mid-Autumn! 合家同欢庆中秋!:D

Mid-Week Surprise! :D

I love surprises! More so when things get too hectic and the whole schedule eats into me.

Thank you Elaine for the little pressies! It brighten up our mid-week. Happy hump day! :D

My jaw dropped at the sight of a card full of Chinese traditional characters! Hahahhahaha... I can manage 90% of it!

You Go Gal! :)

It's so exciting to see our gf putting her day job in a FI on the side, picking up the cello & performing on stage! Lin & I were blown away by POP! the Strings performance. :D Every song was captivating. *.* We were like "WOW" when the first song, From Russia with Love was played.

Pretty hydrangea for the star! ;) You go gal! :) So proud of you! Woohoohoo!!!

A Perk-Me-Up Tea

Humph...these few weeks have been a roller coaster ride (I've been brainwashing myself & praying all will be fine eventually - God can move the mountains). I don't see the matter settling anytime soon...Oh well, I might as well enjoy tea with Godson & Ad at Dolcetto by Basilico at the Regent. :)

I'm liking the raspberry millefeuille. :)

As usual, Ivan gets restless halfway through our tea session. :)))

Little One is Six! :)

Lin & I had been so busy, we actually forgot about Koka's b'day. *.* Hence only a mini celebration this year.

A fruity birthday tart from Fruit Paradise and happy birthday song was all it needed to get Koka really thrilled. :)))

Well, you know who's mommy's & daddy's gal. *.*

Elaine's Visit = A Week of Nom Nom Nom :)

Elaine was in town for training in the week of 19 Aug. :) As it was her maiden trip to Singapore, we listed a number of To-Eats here. :D Dinners were late as we could only catch up after office hours.

1st stop: Crabby feast at Melben Seafood

Hello chilli crabs :)

Black pepper crab, butter crab & crab bee hoon soup. :)

2nd stop: Lunch at Lin's office :)

Thanks to Elaine, we finally stepped into Gardens by the Bay. :)

All we wanted to do was to check out the Skywalk, a 128m long walkway, 22m high and connecting two Supertrees at the Supertree Grove.

The height was too much for Lin and she went down in less than 5 mins. :))) Duh...

Elaine and I were busy clicking our cameras away. :D

We were waiting for nightfall... :)

Singapore in the evening :)

Lights up. :)

Nite... :)

From the foot of the Super Trees :)

3rd top: Chicken rice delight at Boon Tong Kee

The signature Imperial Chicken :)

4th stop: Punggol Nasi Lemak

One of our fav local food is nasi lemak. :)

5th stop: Song Heng Fishballs Noodles

It was a Sat & Elaine had a full day with us. :D

Because she had yet to try local breakfasts, we took her to our fav fishball noodles stall in the wet market.

6th stop: Coffee, tea and toast at Toast Box

7th stop: Garden Street Kway Chap & Fried Carrot Cake

While waiting for the famous Garden Street's kway chap, I ordered a plate of fried carrot cake for Elaine to try. It's two stalls away from the Garden Street Kway Chap.

The fried carrot cake became her new love. :)

Elaine was to stuffed to try kway chap by then :)))

8th stop: Sunday breakfast at Ya Kun

Quick bite before Elaine's flight home to Taipei :)

After a week of non-stop eating...we had to go easy on our meals for at least a week. *.*
