Day 4: Breakfast at Rinyu Morning Market (鱗友朝市)
The morning shower isn't keeping us away from Rinyu Morning Market. This market is possibly one of the smallest we had been to.
We picked up more dried seafood products such as dried shrimps and anchovies here. :)
But the ultimate goal of coming here was to have seafood breakfast! :D There are only 3 restaurants in this little market.
This was what we came for :)))
I'm so not used to having tempuras for breakfast...it feels weird...but I guess we now have all the energy needed to start our 4th day adventure. :)))

Day 3: Finger Licking Good at Wakadori Jidai Naruto Fried Chicken
The storm became a drizzle, allowing us to head to Wakadori Jidai Naruto Fried Chicken. Apparently this place is Otaru's treasure.
My cousin who eats fried chicken with all her 10 fingers. They taste better this way. :) Fingers licking good. :)))

Day 3: Finding Fun Despite the Storm in Otaru :)
Grey skies awaited us at Otaru. :))) But that doesn't deter us from admiring Otaru Canal.
We could easily walk to anywhere in Otaru. One of the places we brought Charlotte and Lydia to today was Otaru Music Museum.
An ice cream/soft serve a day keeps the blue away. :)
If mom is here, she will definitely want these grilled babies. :)))
It was afternoon by the time we reached Kaemei. If we had arrived in the morning, we would be able to see the staff clean, descale, and dissect the fish before making them into fish paste to make fish cakes. Kaemei's fish cakes are prepared with freshly caught seafood from the nearby waters.
There were 4 of us, none of us took a pic of Hotel Torifito where we would be staying for a nite, other than our rooms with a barrel in it? :)))
Now if the rain gets lighter, we could perhaps head out for dinner. :)

Day 3: Back at Yabuhan for Chilled Soba :)
When you are in Otaru, you need to try the soba at Yabuhan. It's Lin & my second time here and we are still loving it. :) Be prepared to queue...
Nothing beats having chilled soba during summer. :) And together with tempura..... :D

Day 2: Seafood & Grocery Shopping :)
We planned a hotpot dinner at Furano Fresh Powder, our home for the next 2 days in Furano :) Before making our way there, we headed to 三角市场 at Otaru to get some fresh seafood. ^.^
三角市场 is small compared to other seafood markets we went to in Japan. Nonetheless we managed to get daikons, salmons and some prawns for our hotpot. :)
It was a pleasure driving to Furano. We were awed by the blue & green surroundings. :O
We only made one rest stop along the way for Tina & Beanie who have small bladders. Lol. :)))
I often wondered what it was like to drive to a rest stop on my own. I think it's because I watched too much Korean drama serials, where the actor or actress will drive for long hours and stopping at rest stops. Lol. :))) Those rest stops we did on package tours are not counted. Anyway I satisfied my curosity during this trip. It simply meant some shopping for us! ^.*
We made one last stop at a supermarket to get more goodies for our hotpot. :)
Everyone's contented with our grocery purchase for the day. :) As part of the save-the-environment efforts, plastic bags were not given. So we packed our purchase in used cartons! ;)
