Day 5: Cashless on the Last Day *.*

On the last morning in Tokyo, we called room service. :) Egg bene to kickstart our day. :D

Today's weather isn't fantastic but it ain't stopping us to somewhere cute. :)))

So here we are, at Shirohige's Cream Puff Factory :D

The dining area isn't big and they do not accept reservation. We were thus lucky to get a corner table. :)

We were happily seated but not for long. Lin realized we ran out of cash after placing our orders. *.* This place accepts cash only. :(((

If I knew we didn't have cash....I would have stopped Lin from ordering these pasta... :@

We could have shared the drinks too. :)))

But these cuties are a definite must order. :)))

Mitsue couldn't come save us cos the cafe is too far from the city centre. In the end, we plastered on lots of layers of skin and called our Japanese housing agent for help! :))) PAISEH to the MAX! *.*

It was house hunting after that. :)))

Dinner was simple and delicious at Kayanoya Midtown. :)

Dinner was delightful but I needed to satisfy my gyoza and ramen cravings. Hence second round of dinner at Haneda Airport. We boarded our flight with full bellies. :)))

Day 2: 3 Bowls of Honmarumen at Mutekiya Ramen 麺創房無敵家

Finally arrived back in Tokyo for Honmarumen at Mutekiya Ramen. :) It's one of the top 3 ramen places in Tokyo and queuing for at least 30mins is inevitable!

I can't remember how long we waited but we were relieved to be seated. :)

For starter, we had some juicy Gyozas! :)

We had a bowl of Mutekiya Ramen's Honmarumen (本丸麺) each. Each bowl consisted of Men (noodles), Menma (bamboo shoots), Negi (shallots), Chasu (pork), Tamago (egg), Nanohana (vegetables) and Tokotsu Soup. FYI, the broth has been prepared for 20 hours a batch!

So so good... :)

Satisfying dinner to end our second day in Tokyo! Hm... :)

Tina's the Birthday Girl! :)

Tina's the b'day girl! We celebrated a day earlier as she had to fly off to Changmai for biz trip on Sunday. Somehow her name's Tuna on the b'day cake??? :)))

Happy & Blessed B'day Tina dearest! Thank you for being an A-star friend. Our lives are brighten because of you. May love, joy & laughter surround you all year round!

I was secretly hoping & plotting we would celebrate her b'day at some Korean restaurant but the b'day girl chose Japanese... And so Japanese cuisine it was, at Itacho sushi. :)))

A Bowl of Ramen Please

There are times when all we want is a simple bowl of ramen in chicken broth. Nothing fanciful. Marutama Ra-men seems the obvious choice for our Sat dinner. :)

So here we have it. Qq ramen with pork slice, ajitama & lots of scallions in chicken broth. :)

And the side? Gyozas. :)

Ramen with Gwendel at Kura Ramen

Gwendel raved about Ku Ra's ramen. :) So we checked it out with her this evening. It might be due to a raise in expectation, we weren't exactly awed by it. We tried the white miso ramen. The ramen's springy & the soup is rich. But somehow I think the presentation made the overall ramen average. It could have been better if they have half the egg so that the glorious yolk would give some colour to the otherwise dull looking ramen.

Lin and I ordered the set meal which comes with a drink either ocha or ice lemon tea and a side dish of our choice. We had seafood cubes & gyozas. The seafood cubes were pretty tasty but the gyozas were alright only.

We figured it's not a place we'll frequent.

A Belated Birthday Celebration for Sheau Wen

We finally celebrated SW's b'day last evening. :) We had to postphone twice; Lin was busy preparing for her exam & SW was down with ahhhh chooooo.

SW chose Sun with Moon. We like the place for its cosy ambience & food for that economical price range. :)

Here's what we had:

Uramaki platter

Gyoza (I should have requested for lime to drizzle over them. They were a little hm...heavy?)

SW's set dinner... :)

Lin & I shared a Salmon Kamameshi. :)

We also shared the Tontori, which were tender & juicy ;)

and tofu cheesecake. Not sure why it was caged though... lol :))))

My evening was initially marred by a yellow top taxi which banged into our car's side mirror. He stopped to adjust his mirror and drove off without apologizing. >: / I wouldn't pursue the matter if he had apologize. And so, we made a complaint to the taxi company and are waiting for them to revert. Thank goodness we ended our meal on a sweet note. :)

Happy belated birthday SW! :D

Goodbye Business Suits & Killer Heels

Finally took the BIG leap forward. Relieved, excited, apprehensive. That kind of sum up my feelings at the moment, having chose to leave a cushy work environment, not knowing what's going to happen next. However there is one thing that I'm certain, i.e God is in full control. "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future - Jeremiah 29:11. :)

I was pleasantly surprised by the turnout of colleagues who attended a last minute farewell drink session organized by my immediate head (he was away). Thank you all who attended. And so the first round of farewell party....

Drinks at Post Bar, at the Fullerton Hotel. :) It has been such a long while since I went there.

The restaurant overlooks the Singapore River. It has three private rooms. However they were all booked. I was very happy with the table we were allocated. See the pic above. :) It was tucked in a cosy corner. :)
