Birds Of A Feather Flock Together :)

I rarely blog about the F&B scene in Singapore because Lin & I hardly eat out here due to our health conditions and we save all out cheat-day coupons overseas. We have come to terms with our health issues and our cheat-days have spilled over to our homeland now as well. :))) It's Angie's b'day and it warrants a cheat-day coupon. :))) I stumbled upon Birds Of A Feather while googling for something & decided to check it out with, in Angie's words...baby gals? :)))

Love the place instantly upon stepping in. :)))

Birds Of A Feather serves modern Szechuan cuisine and cocktails. Unfortunately the menu doesn't have Angie's fav Szechuan Spicy Boiled Fish Fillet (水煮鱼). Anyway, we decided to try out their starters while Angie deliberated if we should adjourn to a traditional Szechuan establishment for the 水煮鱼 she had been craving for the whole week. :)))

But bam! The starters were so fab, she chose to stay on and savor the rest of the menu. :))) Yeah!!! :D

This place scores on taste and presentation! :D The starters that made us stayed for more...

Fortune Skewer in Szechuan Pepper Broth

These Fried Potato & Japanese Sweet Potato with House Seasoning was so good we had two servings. :)

At least they have 辣子鸡 which is another Szechuan dish Angie loves. :))) It's called Find The Chicken In The Chillies at Birds Of A Feather. ;)

The birthday gals is into calamari too. :) Fried Calamari with Yuzu Tartar Sauce.

We gave the honour of shaking these Crispy Pork Trotter in a Bag with some salty and spicy powder to Angie. :)

The seats were too uncomfortable... we requested for a change in table after taking this pic & finishing the first round of starters.

I found these Crispy Gyoza with Truffle Soy Vinaigrette lacking. Pretty presentation nonetheless. :)

Each of us chose one main to share. Tina opted for Roasted Chicken & Avocado Salad with Szechuan Pepper. :)

I think breads are served when you order any mains. :) They're so good, we will come back again to try their breakfast. :)))

Wendy chose Tofu Burger with Mapo Meat Sauce. :) Some parts were a tad salty.

I chose Oriental Bolognaise with Onsen Tamago, Mizuna & Ebi Sakura. :) It was good!

Lin chose Hot & Sour Chazuke to share. Lovely comfort food. :)

We didn't stay for dessert as we still had a birthday cake from Chateraise at our store. :)

What a blessing to grow up, older, wiser & happier together. :D

Celebrating Beanie's Birthday at Pizzeria Mozza!

Beanie is a year older! :) And we celebrated his big day at Pizzeria Mozza! :D

We love the Meatballs al forno and Calamari al forno with fagioli & oregano. :) Thumbs up for both dishes.

The Wednesday's special, Pesce al Forno was just as delactable. It's basically baked threadfin with red leaf lettuce and lemon.

Egg, bacon, Yukon gold potato & Bcippolini onions...what's not to like about this combi??? :)

Prosciutto di Parma, rucola, tomato & mozzarella

I guess we can skip the desserts here...

Caramel, espresso and peanut butter gelato sandwich, chocolate malt gelato and Canoli di Ricott

The other stuff we had...

Sparkling water, latte & chips in a bag. :)

Blessed birthday Dad! :)

Seafood Dinner & Dessert with Nicola

Nicola brought us to Under Bridge Spicy Crab (橋底辣蟹). It's named as such cos the restuarant is located under a highway and it's famous for spicy crabs. :)))

The resturant spans a few storey and was packed. The first thing that caught my eyes though were the pretty ceiling lamp shades. :)

We started our dinner with oysters porridge which of course Lin & I picked out. We don't take oysters. But Wendy, Nicola & Beanie savoured them. The porridge had minced pork and dried fish in them too, making the broth sweet & flavourful. We heart it!

Nicola ordered bamboo clams for Wendy, Beanie and herself as both of us don't take them as well. It was a little too chewy for Beanie... :)))

We love these vegs. They tasted so gooooood...

The salted eggs prawns was good but wasn't as fantastic as Tung Po's. The deep fried squid was a tad greasy & chunky for my liking.

And the star...deep fried crabs with chilli & garlic. :) You can choose the level of spiciness for this dish. ;) Urm...coke please!

We headed to Tong Pak Fu for dessert. Nicola and I didn't have any in the end cos we needed to go pick up my new toy, a Sony Nex F3. :)

Here's what Lin & Beanie had... :( Lin's the photographer in my absence...

Btw, this is a shop with possibly one of the friendliest bosses.

I'm gonna try in my next visit to HK! Umph! *.*

Lunch at Roadhouse with Sheau Wen

Today's visit to the doc seemed more positive. So we brought Sheau Wen to Roadhouse for lunch. :)

The set lunches are good! :D Sheau Wen & Lin chose the 2 course set lunch (starter & main) at SGD 25 while I chose the 3 course one (starter, main & dessert) at SGD 28.

The mushroom soup with a dash of truffle oil & seafood bisque were yummmm. :)

Lin loves Roadhouse's chunky calamari. :D But the portion was a little big for one! :) She ended up removing the batter & ate the squids on their own! Lol! :)))

Sheau Wen enjoyed her tofu & portobello mushroom burger while Lin & I savoured plain Jane! :) The beef was juicccccy... *.* If Jane could speak, she should be very talkative! She has two extremely long waggy tongues (pickles)! :D

The pesto chicken pasta was quite light. :) Not too bad...

We are an obedient bunch. We saved room for dessert (it's one of the rules on the blackboard as you enter Roadhouse). ;) And well...it's good we obey at times. :) The Oreo mud pie further sweeten our Friday noon. :D
