Drowsy Birthday Celebration :)))

A gorgeous nite view awaits the birthday boy. :) It's a belated celebration for Beanie at Sky on 57.

The actual day was Monday. We postponed the celebration as he had to do an endoscopy this morning and needed to avoid some food for the last 3 days. He was still drowsy from the anaesthetics but his spirit was up! :D

Today's call for champagne. :)

When our lunch was too early and too little today, having some bread to munch is welcomed. ;)

We went for Indulgence for Four this evening. :) The first dish of crispy skinned salmon was delightful. :D

We love the xiao long bao with abalone too. :) The broth was fabulous.

Hahahaaahha we didn't expect such a big slab of wagyu beef... *.*

Too much...I will abstain from steak for a while.... :)))

Salad to go. :)

And the chef dessert this evening was mango pudding with coconut sorbet. Erm...Lin's very pleased but not me...

A little surprise for the birthday boy. :) We are thankful for God's blessing upon him. Despite being emotional with frequent mood swings (to the point we think Beanie's having menopause), he's an amazing dad. :D

I had to complete our dinner with Crazy about Chocolates. :)))

Note to self: to take more family group pics! :D Our pics are mostly one person i.e. on his/her own, some twos and rarely four together.

Day 1 - Nagoya: Eating Our First Nite Away :)

Yamamoto-Ya Honten is famous for its miso rich and bonito-based soup with homemade udon noodles, eggs, green onion & chicken. This is a very "Nagoya-style" dish.

We spotted our reseravtion on the restaurant's notice board. There was a Merlion, stating our country of origin. :)))

Menu with pics say a thousand words! :)

What's in the pot? :)

Tada! Perfect for a chilly day! :D

We bought the dried udon for Angie & family to try too!

Shops close early in Nagoya, at about 8pm. We managed to grab some awesome cakes from Gramercy before heading back for the day. :)

My favorite patisserie in Nagoya. :)

I love love their strawberry shortcake! It's the pastry store's No.1 seller.

Lin should be posing with mango pudding instead! ;)

I couldn't resist the double chocolate tart too! :D

Even though I'm really really sleepy... :)))

Dad added mango pudding for everyone but me to share. :)

We ate our first nite in Nagoya away... :)

Simple Thai Fare at Nara Thai :)

This evening, Yvonne & Tommy treated us to a simple but delectable dinner at Nara Thai. :)

Being newbies here, we selected assorted Nara’s Hors d’oeuvre just to try a bit of everything. :)

Thai Mango Salad for all but moi. :)

Tom Yum Kung - river prawns in spicy lemongrass and lime soup was titillating.

The Crab Meat Omlette looks plain but it's actually my fav. :)

There were two misses though. The Green Curry Chicken was a little disappointing as the chicken fillets were a little tough. *.*

The Stir-Fried Morning Glory was a little too salty.

Still, I enjoyed my dinner on the whole. :)

I would love to have the lime juice with grass jelly Lin was having if I wasn't coughing. :(

Sweet things need to be shared. :)

Mango glutinous rice (I heart sticky rice, not the mangoes)

Tapioca drizzled with coconut milk

Thank you Yvonne & Tommy for the b'day treat. :)
