Feasting Away 2012! :)

Rather than jostling with the crowd to count down to the new year, we feasted the last day of 2012 away, with our dearest cousins & loved ones. :) The theme was DIY sushi making.

It's always good to play safe to have ready to eats, in case our sushi making flops. :)))

We found this kawaii Hello Kitty fishcakes at Mediya and we just gotta buy it. Faith & Jarius finished them all... *.*

Chef, the sushi chef? :)))

Stuffing from the sea :)

Stuffing from the land :)

Yahui's working hard for our dinner! :D

The end product looked pretty decent eh? ;)

The kids enjoyed their food! :) Faith couldn't stop eating! Oh dear...

The foodies :D

Koka wasn't in a brilliant mood as she wasn't the center of attention...

We ended 2012 on a sweet note. Glico strawberry ice cream coated with chocolate and beancurd. :)

2012 has been a tough year but we praise God for seeing us through! :)

Lazy Afternoon with Godson Ivan :)

Yippee! We finally had time to play with Ivan this afternoon! :D He's such a HAPPY baby!

And our Saturday afternoon couldn't be better. Adelene makes the best sliced fish noodle soup for lunch. The broth is simply flavourful. I'm gonna learn this superb dish from her! ;)

For dessert, Adelene also made Fu Chuk (dried beancurd sheets and ginko nuts). There's so much ingredient it can be a meal on its own. Lol! :)))

If cousin is a joker, his son (our godson) is a clown. He's able to entertain himself and those around him. :)

Ivan needs lots of serviettes for his droooooooool...

Daddy thinks toys might be a better play option. :) We need to save our environment by not wasting paper!

Learning is fun for Ivan. He loves flash cards! :)

Simply watching Ivan having fun is such a joy! I wonder how Koka will take to this little one? We'll see when Ivan is a little older and we're able to introduce him to her. :)

Pauline, the Birthday Star! :)

This year, Lin & I wanted to give Pauline something special for her b'day. The poor lady has been swamped with work & we wanted very much to give her some energy booster! :D

I tried looking for the smallest b'day cake possible and a Cedele Chocolate Truffle Cake was my final pick. It was the smallest of all whole cakes being displayed in the cake chiller. :))) Ooo it was rich.......

Btw, there wasn't any decor on the cake except the Happy Birthday tag provided by Cedele. I used the mistletoe from Bakerzin's log cake (given by Pauline on Christmas eve) and stuck it into the cake. :)))

The birthday lady suggested having Teochew porridge. After a week long of Christmas feasting, Teochew porridge is the kindest on our stomaches. :) So here's our spread.

It's not a duckie day. I ran three places just to get braised duck. *.* All the braised duck stalls which we like were closed today???

The fish was fried by Lidia. :)

Mom did the preserved turnip eggs and Lidia stir-fried green marrow (one of my fav veg).

The condiments which go well with plain porridge. :)

Bugger... I forgot to take a pic of the bowl of comforting plain porridge....pardon me as our dinner was close to 9pm... *.*

To Pauline, with a friend like you who/who's:
1) fun & funny
2) loving
3) rolling eyes at my "creativity"
4) supportive of my work to the extent of carrying buckets of water for my floral arrangements N times from point A to point B,C,D...
5) pampering me with stuff I like (such as macarons)
6) goes breakfast, lunch, tea & dinner, movies etc with me & hangs out at our place
7) ever patient with my pic taking even when it means she gotta pose a really long time
9) never loses temper at me
10) loves Koka

Blessed B'day! :) You're a star! ;)

Which House Are We Celebrating Our Christmas?

Till the last month leading to Christmas, we were still wondering if we were gonna celebrate the joyous occassion at our new home or the current one. If we have a definite answer, we would have invited more friends. The current place is cramped with stuff for the new house. At the end of it all, it doesn't matter where we did it eh? It's the company which matters most. :)

Our Christmas spread. :) Thanks to JY & Linda, we were still able to savour Baxter lobster bisque this year. JY managed to get 3 cans in Hong Kong & Linda got 4 cans in London. :) Ling Lee bought us snow flake pork ribs. ;) And the rest were prepared by mom. :D

Macarons & log cake were contributed by Pauline and durians were from Sheau Wen! :)

A moment of savouring :)

This Christmas, the pooches came in full force! :)

They had fun & so did we!

I love gift exchanges! I love unwrapping the pressies & be thrilled to find what's in store. ;) Angie's nutcracker did cracked me up!

Angie's second bb, Cameron was so into me...I became a "mummy". :))) We have no idea why. He's also able to differentiate between Lin & I. :))) I enjoy the favoritism though. Lol!

The nite ended with Tommy balleting Christian songs in Hokkien. I don't understand the languge but oooo he was good...

Thanks Huiqi & Ferras for popping over still despite us not asking them (Huiqi's 7 mths pregnant & we didn't want her to be uncomfy with the mess). Lin & I are touched by their thoughtfulness. :)

Here's a little something to share:

May God grant you the light in Christmas, which is faith
the warmth of Christmas, which is love
the radiance of Christmas, which is purity
the righteousness of Christmas, which is justice
the belief in Christmas, which is truth
the all of Christmas, which is Christ.

Heng Hwa Cusine at PuTien

JY's in town & suggested doing dinner at Pu Tien for Heng Hwa cuisine. :) It's our first visit to this resturant and our first taste of Heng Hwa food.

Some of JY's fav dishes at this restuarant: Drunken Cockles, Claypot Fish Soup &

Stired Fried Yam. Lin & I also ordered Stired Fried Wild Yam with Celery & Ginko Nuts and Pu Tien Mee Sua to try.

While I'm not blown away by this restuarant, it's a good change from our usual Imperial Treasure and Crystal Jade group of restuarants. :)

A Simply Pretty Wedding

Marcus & Chelvin tied the knot today! :) It's a simple yet meaningful day, celebrated with family and close friends. Lin & I are thrilled Blume Link's able to play a part in their happiest day.

The flowers used:

Chelvin's fav champagne/peach roses
Champagne Eustomas
Purple Freesias
Purple Matthiola
Purple with white edges Hydrangeas
White Eustomas
Eucalyptus

The church stipulated the colour theme for the week of Advent and it has to be purple & white. White flowers isn't exactly Chelvin's cup of tea & so we kept it only to the lectern floral arrangement but I decided to add purple to everything. The final product was pleasing. :)

The Groom's Boutonniere & Bride's Posy

Santuary

Posy for the Pews

Lectern, Chairs, Unity Candles & Soleminization Table

Bridal Car

Lin & I pray for God's blessings on this newlyweds. May they grow together in God's love.
God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. - 1 John 4:16
