Scrumptious Fellowship :)

Sadly & guiltily, Lin and I have not been consistent in attending our small group/care cells meetings this year. *.* Despite being rather exhausted, we are glad we managed to make it for today's fellowship! :) 

Prior to whatever you see on this post, we did have some work before feasting. We viewed clips from Palm Sunday, last supper, Judas betrayal, Jesus in front of Sanhedrin, in front of Pilate and the crucifixion with  reference to Chapter 10 of The Jesus I Never Knew by Philip Yancey.

Too New Perhaps?

Lin was really excited when she discovered Imperial Treasure Shanghai Cuisine serves her fav turnip pastry (you see, Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao has taken this item off their menu & she needs to find an alternative restaurant that serves it *.*) 

Imperial Treasure Shanghai Cuisine is 3 days in operation. And perhaps that explains the erm...below average service. Much left to be desired... The service staff did not give us our hot towels and there was no napkin provided as well. This is unusual for an Imperial Treasure chain. 

Now back to the turnip pastry Lin was craving for. It was simply flat......disappointment was written all over her face...They need to work on the flavours of the turnip fillings. Looks like Lin has gotta satisfy her craving in Shanghai next week. :)))

Lin found the noodles of the Preserved Szechuan Veg Noodle with Shredded Pork a tad too thin for her liking too. : I



The Xiao Long Baos were very tasty though. :)



The star dish is the appetizer, Shredded Chicken & Fen Pi drizzled with Peanut Sauce. Love, love, love. :)

Birthday Tea for SW :)

SW turns 40! While many cringe at the thought of being older, to turn 40 is a blessing & privilege for her. Indeed after all she has gone through. :) We thank God for every minute, hour, day, month & year He has given to our dear friend.

We celebrated SW's milestone over tea at TWG. :)

and ending the tea session with scones & tart. :)

Well rested to shop! :D SW bought lots of stuff! She deserved it! :D

Wendy's Birthday at Super Star K :)

Wendy's the b'day star & we held a mini celebration for her at Super Star K. ;)

This place was packed on a Saturday nite and because no reservation on weekends, Tina started queuing at 6pm.

Each of us had our own canteen-liked tray/plate, which I thought was pretty cool. :) When we were kids, mom gave us compartmentalize plastic plates too. ;)

Again as in most Korean restaurants, there were plenty of side dishes. :) 

We had 2 rounds of BBQ platter, consisting of beef & pork. :D

Kimchi Jigae, Ginseng Chicken Soup & Soondubu

Flor Patisserie ran out of whole cakes and we had to settle for a slice of strawberry cake for our b'day star instead. :) Which was just as well...we were too full to stuff in anymore cakes. :D

My Strawberry Plot...Pot ;)

We went to the nursery this afternoon & spotted some potted strawberries. I wanna one too! :)

My feelings are pretty mixed. I'm skeptical if my strawberry pot would thrive in Singapore's humid weather (I'm placing them in the air well of our basement as it's much cooler). I'm also really excited about having a strawberry plot...well pot. I know I'll be v sad if my strawberry plant doesn't make it. Please don't die on me babies. *.* But for now, I just savor the first fruit with mom, Beanie & Lin. :)

It's sweet because it's from my pot! :)))

Supposedly to be in Hangzhou...

We were supposed to be in Hangzhou tonight. However unforeseen work circumstances resulted in the postponement of our road trip to June. *.* Just to be "in China" mood, Ann, Tina & the both of us did dinner at Hai Di Lao. :)

For our soup bases for the hotpot, we opted for comforting chicken soup and tomato soup. We kicked off our meal with chicken soup & lots of scallions.

Everyone was entertained by the handmade noodle performance :D



and the mass b'day celebration which the service staff had for Hai Di Lao's customers whose b'days fell on this very day. :)))

soya bean milk, longans & watermelons :D Dear me...totally stuffed... *.*

Our catchup lunch with Serena today is sweeten by a $45 deal at Skinny Pizza! For that price, we get a pizza of our choice, a pasta of our choice and 2 drinks. :D

So we opted for the English Breakfast, the Elegant Black Pepper Prawn Lingunie  and 

2 pots of yuzu tea (and we requested for an extra cup as there were 3 of us).

We just had to order some truffle fries... :)
