Day 1: An All-Gals-Cousins Getaway :)

So, I woke up one December morning and told Lin I wanna do a all gals cousins get away. Destination wasn't a priority, but to travel with our cousins was key! :D Here we are at the airport ready for our mini expedition. :)

We had never taken a red eye flight to Hong Kong before. But this was the best option if we wanted a full three days. Grace had mummy commitment and wasn't able to join. She sent us her selfie stick instead! :)))

Day 1

Zou San! :D We arrived in HK at approx 5am, blurry eyed. *.* It was too early to check into the hotel, so we freshen up at the airport instead. :)

We dropped our luggage with the concierge at Dorsett Wanchai and headed straight for breakfast. We wasted no time! :)))

Ivy recommended Capital Cafe. :)

I tend to zoom into the breakfast sets as they are better value? :))) For HKD 36, we get shredded ham with macaroni, sunny side up/scramble eggs, toast and coffee/milk tea. :D

The waiter slipped a piece of paper into the table after taking our orders. I'm not sure is it's our order number or table number.

Is that ours? :)

Opps...we should have shared! *.*

Closer look at our breakfast. ;)

Thick toast slathered with butter. While everyone chose scamble eggs, I opted for sunny side ups. We really needed some sun for a raining Friday morning. :))) The temperature is about 10 degree and the gals are freezing. *.*

Simple comfort food :)

Yahui has a ferocious appetite. :))) In her words: "either you feed me or give me a bed". We are more than happy to feed her!!! :D

Milk tea for Lin & I. Coffee for the rest! :D

Tummies were filled and ready to  go! :D

On our way to Central to take a ferry to TST. :) We aimed to try the various public transport available. :D

Water was a little choppy due to the rain.

And here we are at Star Ferry Pier Tsim Sha Tsui. :)

It's no easy feat to plan a holiday to cater to all our preferences. Lin did a beautiful job. For Yahui who loves nature, Lin planned a trip to Kowloon Park. We passed this park umpteen times in our numerous trips to HK. However we had never once stepped in. :)))

Yahui and Charlotte have been our playmates. We grew up together. :) Studies and work has made travelling together very difficult. This HK trip is a very rare treat for all of us.

Lydia is the baby in our family and our age gap is huge. It's our first travel with her and aren't we glad to have her with us. :D

We barely walked and Lin had leg cramps??? :)))

While Yahui went about taking selfies (now we know who's the selfie queen), I went about admiring the fauna and foliage. :)

A dose of cuteness is welcomed. :D Happiness is having dim sum lunch at Hello Kitty Chinese Cuisine with our cousins and they aren't embarrassed by it. :D

All the dishes seems to be in the shape of Hello Kitty's head. :D

Where do we start eating from? :)))

Dumplings :D

Har kows :)

Liu sha bao :D

Next up was some cheap thrill shopping at Kwai Fong! :))) Came across this old school ice cream van when we were heading to the train station but we had no tummy space for it. *.*

On our way to Kwai Fong. :D

On our mark, get ready, GO! :D

We did a great job here in just a couple of hours. ;)
My loot:
1 dress
1 pleated skirt
1 floral shirt
1 shirt dress
1 bomber jacket
2 pjs

The shopping queen of the day wasn't me... Lydia took the throne. :)))

Lydia continued shopping while we 姐姐s took a break at 轻松一下. :)

I love these cheong funs. :)

Shopping resumed after a short siesta. :))) There is a traditional teochew candy store where we always get traditional sweets for grandmom. :)

We can't leave Kwai Chung Plaza without having our fav noodles from 小雨天.

Lydia can sure eat. I was already over the top and she requested for dumplings??? *.*

Btw, this place serves the cheapest ice lemon tea. ;)

4ish pm! We could finally checked into Dorsett! :D Jingyi prepped us about the hotel and so I wasn't expecting much. :)))

It's awesome to freshen up after a long day out (about 18 hours!). :) Time to head out for dinner at Urban Park! :D Urban Park TST has an alfresco garden dining area and I made a reservation because we love outdoor/rooftop dining. :))) But seriously, I was apprehensive about doing so when the temperature is low and Charlotte and Yahui's threshold for cold is at the bottom. *.*

When you have a party of 5, we can try more stuff. :) Yeah!

Thanks to a stand alone fire pit, the gals weren't freezing too badly. :)))

Drinks to kickstart our evening! :D

Sidetrack a bit. I'm very please with this new shirt I purchased! :D Not bad eh? Charlotte got a shirt from the same shop too. :)

First up was whole Boston rock lobster tail pasta. ;)
It's served with linguine, basil tomato & black caviar toppings.

Then we had Australian M5 wagyu rib-eye steak served with roasted garlic & cajun skinny fries.

Roasted "beer can" chicken served with seasonal veggie, potato wedge & beer sauce.

Fancy presentation but it didn't taste as good. *.*

Kim managed to join us after her client meeting! Nice! :D

And we chilled the nite away. :)

Cinderellas gotta head back soon.  Another adventure awaits us tomorrow. :)

In three days, we are going to create memories, we are going to reconnect, we are going to learn and embrace our differences. :) Our bellies are full, so are our hearts. :)
