Our Birthday Celebration Continues... :D
Our birthday celebration continued at Chef's Table with our gfs. :) Happiness is exploring new places together. ;)
We took the 6 course meal as recommended. :) Only to struggle later on...(facepalm *.*)
Chef Stephen and his team whipped out dishes catered to our palate preference and dietary requirement. :) Every dish was a surprise. :)
The magic began with...a fresh salmon dish :)
One of our fav dish of the nite was poached egg with squid and ham. :)
There were two versions of some dishes, i.e gluten free and non-gluten.
Two cuts of steak for us. :)
Angie loves these oyster leaves v much. She said they really tasted like oyster. That explained the price tag. ;)
We love desserts :D Refreshing raspberries sorbet with choc was a nice welcome. :)
Lin had lemon sorbet with chocs :) Both were lovely. :)
And a birthday cake surprise from the gals. :D
What can I say about this bunch of girlfriends? :) We're blessed to have them in our lives. :) They are sisters we chosen for ourselves. :)))
Finally get to blow the candle off our cake! :D

Happy Birthday to You & Me :)
Birthday...it doesn't feel like it today, somehow. We are at a age and stage where we have everything and in need of nothing. It's no longer about what pressies we will be getting. Rather, it's about thanking God for all He has bestowed upon the both of us. :) Birthday, a day God created two of us, so fearfully and wonderfully made. :D
I love surprises but how do I give ourselves birthday surprises. :)))
I chose this macaron and floral wreath cake for us, from Cupplets. :) Isn't it gorgeous? :)
All my favorite in 1 cake! Score! :D Fresh blooms, berries, macarons, chocolate and ombre swirl. :)
Celebrating today with mom, Beanie & Koka...bliss. :)
I'm a big fan of Japanese Italian cuisine and I'm looking forward to dinner at Terra. Terra is a Tokyo-Italian restaurant nestled in the culinary enclave of Tras Street. Dinner at 6.30pm for us because we have a flight to catch. :) So much things to look forward to today. :D
Be blown away with Chef Seita's omakase. :) Every dish is created using the freshest seasonal produce, flown in directly from Japan.
We thoroughly enjoyed every dish at Terra. :) Little wonder Terra is a one Michelin restaurant. :D
Rushing off now to catch our flight to Hong Kong!

Day 4: Stuffed to My Forehead at Yoshikawa Tempura :)))
Oh oh oh...poor feet...please take us to Yoshikawa Tempura. :O Taking in the sights of Kyoto streets as we figured our way to dinner. :)
The walk was longer than expected. We learned a lesson. When Google maps say 10 mins, it usually mean 20 mins in reality. :(
Yoshikawa Tempura's is a small outfit with only 11 seats, and reservation is required.
Lin had pre-ordered Chidori set for us. All we needed to do was sit back & savour. :)
I'm not an appetiser or starter person. Often I prefer to jump to the mains. :) But in Japan, there is a certain order we need to adhere to. :))) So be patient. :)
Ebi tempura at its freshest. :D
I love flowers but eating them is a different story altogether. :))) It felt weird chewing such a big piece of flower.
Chestnut tempura :) Crunchy chunk. :)))
Fish tempura :)
Side dishes of silver fish. :)))
Daikon tempura
Salt to compliment the eel tempura :)
Lotus tempura. Do not be fooled by these morsel pieces. By now, I had to ask the chef if this was the last item in the set. :((( It wasn't! Save me....
Sweet potato and prawn tempura. :))) My two fav items but not when I'm stuffed to my forehed. :(
And the finale was rice with tea. :) But eh... why are there tempura stuff in it too... :(
Pat on the shoulder for completing our meals. I did however shoved some items to Beanie when the chef wasn't looking. :)))
We adjourned to the adjacent room for desserts! :O
Sorbet for me anytime! :) Strawberry sorbet refreshed our palate & ease the stuffiness. :)))
