Day 3: Yunnan Impression Show - Dynamic Yunnan

Mr Wang suggested we catch Yunnan Impression Show - Dynamic Yunnan tonite. We were very much entertained by the performance. :)

The show is directed and choreographed by China's well-known dancer Yang Liping. She is famed for her solo dance performance "The Spirit of the Peacock".

Ann, Tina, Lin & I were awed by the vibrant colors, costumes, dances, and ancient tunes of the ethnic minorities. The appeal of Yunnan Impression Show is its efforts to preserve authenticity. More than 600 sets of hand-made costumes, 180 unique ethnic masks, and 68 original drums have been collected from the villages of Yunnan for use in this show. Many stage settings such as the bullheads, Tibetan praying stones (Mani stones), and Buddhist praying wheels are also genuine.

The ticket is RMB 480 per person.

Following are some snipets of the performance. :)

We were attracted by the colourful merchandise at this tiny shop outside the performance hall. :) And of course... ;)

Assets gained:
Ann - 1 embroidered jacket & 1 scarf
Li - 1 scarf

We ended our Yunnan roadtrip day 3 on a high note! :)
