Day 2: Bonsai Appreciation at Bao Garden (鲍家花园)

Bao Garden (鲍家花园) wasn't on the itinerary planned by Lin. We checked it out anyway since it was along the journey to Tangyue Memorial Archway (棠樾牌坊群) which we wanted to visit.

Apparently Bao Garden was a private garden of a wealthy merchant during the Qing dynasty. This private garden is famed for its miniature landscapes and approximately 10,000 bonsai.

I'm unable to appreciate these greens and much preferred the gorgeous pink water lilies instead. :)

Blotches of pink & red got me excited after seeing so much green. :))) Autumn came early this year. :)))

I'm liking the reds & maroons. :)

I think I have failed to capture the beauty of Bao Garden. Thank goodness Ann has a soft spot for bonsai, so it wasn't a wasted trip.
