Day 2: Strolling Down Tangyue Memorial Archway (棠樾牌坊群)

We continued to drive, stopping at the Tangyue Memorial Archway (棠樾牌坊群) for some photos. :) It's our been there, done that thingy. :)))

Tangyue Memorial Archway is made up of seven arches that commemorate the qualities of loyalty, filial piety, chastity and charity. 3 arches were built in the Ming dynasty, and 4 in the Qing Dynasty.

The arches are located at the entrance of the Tangyu village in the west of Shexian County. They were constructed with good quality green stones from Shexian County and no nail was used. Beautiful Hui style carvings can be found around the arches.

Every arch has a story.

This rather huge lily pond was next to where our car was parked. It must be gorgeous when the lilies are in full bloom! :)
