Beanie's 60th at Tung Po Kitchen (東寶小館)

I have no id why Beanie likes HK so much. Anyway, he wanted to celebrate his 60th b'day in HK and so here we are...Lin had initially booked Ming Court, a two Michelin-starred  restaurant & only to cancelled it cos Beanie wanted dinner at Tung Po Kitchen at NorthPoint Wet Market. Beanie is 60, but behaves like a little boy at times. :)))

The food at Tung Po never fails to disappoint us. ;) We started & ended our meals with soups. We had tomato & fish soup to kick start our dinner & for the finale, ginger & sweet potato soup.

Next up were our all time fav - wind sand chicken, seasonal veg with tong fen & light broth as well as salted egg prawns. :D

We tried a new dish, taro crabs with crispy bread. It was a sweet combination. :) Imagine eating crab & O-ni at the same time. Lol!

I love Tung Po's fried ginger rice. :) So we gotta have that. And becos it was beanie's b'day, we ordered fried noodles too.

The happy b'day boy! Lol!

JY & Raymond bought Beanie a chocolaty banana cake from Awfully Chocolate. Something close to home even though we are miles away. :) Nice.

Then there were also longevity buns from Tung Po Kitchen & longevity jelly from Takashimaya. ;)

We were so stuffed. :D Tung Po Kitchen isn't swanky (it's extremely noisy), but the food's good & the company of family & close friends made the dinner a meaningful one. :) A pity Xueyi, Nichola & Veron couldn't join us that nite. *.* Wishing Beanie a blessed birthday. May he grow wiser & more mellow with age. ^.*
