Day 3: Kiyomizu-dera Temple in Full Blossom

It was summer when we first visited Kiyomizu-dera Temple with Wendy, Tina, Xueyi & Yahui. The weather then was punishing and we entered every shop possible to escape the heat and to enjoy complimentary drinks. :)))

Today, the weather was way cooler. :) But the crowd masked the beauty of this UNESCO World Heritage site. We contributed to the headcount. :)))

A major draw for us at Kiyomizu-dera Temple are the shops, especially those selling traditional snacks, plates & bowls. :)))

I love snacks containing wasabi or matcha. :)

We got some bowls for the house too. :)

If you think these ladies dressed in kimonos are Japanese, they are not. Most of them are foreign tourists. :)))

I managed to find a spot, away from the maddening crowd for a selfie. :)

A gorgeous bush with dainty white flowers. :)

A pink blossom tree at the foot of the temple. :)

Shops close early in Kyoto. So we hurried back down to get dinner. :)

Snacking before dinner. :)

The packaging reminded me of the triangle boxed milk. Have you seen it before?

Chestnuts to go. :)

Kiyomizu-dera Temple is just as charming at nite. :)
But we're calling it a day, in search of Saba Zushi...
