Day 4: Serenity & Tranquility at Arashimaya

If you have not visited Arashimaya, do so in your next visit to Kyoto. :) It's the second must-go sightseeing destination in Kyoto. :)

Arashimaya is filled with temples & shrines. If you aren't interested in temples & shrines like us, do not fret. Enjoy it's natural offerings. They will not disappoint. :)

I love picking fruits, which Lin didn't plan for in this trip. So, I'm hoping at least one will fall off the tree? :)))

Even the streets are pretty. :)

There isn't much shopping at Arashimaya. Mom just picked up some local snacks. :)

Lin shortlisted 2 destinations in Arashimaya that we must visit. :) Our first stop is Tenryu-Ji Temple, built in 1339. It's ranked first among Kyoto's five great Zen temples and registered as a world heritage site. However this doesn't enthralled us as much as the temple's garden.

I find the greens gorgeous too. :) Yay or nay? :D

We took an exit from the north gate of Tenryu-Ji Temple and here we are, at the magnificent Arashimaya bamboo grove. :D

The tickets on the romantic Sagano train at the time slot we wanted were sold out. :( So we had to give it a miss. My consolation is we are gonna lunch at the Hello Kitty Cafe. :)

The route back to the main street of Arashimaya is pleasant as we took peeps at the beautiful private residential. :)

We took time to browse through a couple of stores as well.

Arashimaya, a place where everything seems to come to a stand still. :) Take a deep breathe and indulge in the serenity & tranquility. But now, we need to pacify our growling tummies. :D
