Day 6: Too Much Distraction ;)

Too much distraction, just too much. Lol... :))) It took us more than 3 hours to reach Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Reason? There're just too many quaint shops, from the foot of the hill all the way up to Kiyomizu-dera Temple. We were in and out of almost every single shop! *.* It was a fabulous way to take cover from the scorching sun and a feast for our eyes. Erm, at the expense of our pocket that is. Hahahha....

We went through many alleys. :) Every lane is charming in its own ways.

Yahui doesn't enjoy shopping. Hence she rested while we shopped. ;)

Tina had an extra bonus! ^.* She spotted a cute guy (a ricksaw puller) and wanted a pic with him! Kawaii desu? We noticed most of the ricksaw pullers are quite good looking!

Xueyi kept cool amidst the heat. :))) A number of shops offered drinks' samples. Mom & Beanie took them readily! :)))

I love ice, all the more during this trip!

We really enjoyed shopping in these old streets. It's not only nostlagic, the stuff sold here are also more intricate & interesting. :)

I must give a special mention to this bowl which I really like but didn't buy cos of its hefty price tag. :( So here's a pic for record. It's the blue & white china with a little boy peeling over the edge (pic on the left below). To console myself, I bought some other tableware which were much kinder to my pockets. ^.^

Even if you dislike shopping, there are interesting stuff in the streets too!

We arrived at Deva Gate about 3 hours later... lol! :))) If you're on package tour, I don't think you have the luxury of shopping at every shop like we did!

Mom & Beanie were so red from the heat. : O

And finally we were at Kiyomizu-dera Temple. :) Kiyomizu-dera Temple, a Buddhist temple is Japan's national treasure. It is part of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto UNESCO World Heritage Site. Oh, btw, not a single nail was used in the construction of the whole temple!

I think the view of Kiyomizu-dera Temple will be more spectacular during the cherry blossoms season or autumn when the leaves of the trees are red!

Devotees took time to pen wishes & requests at Kiyomizu-dera Temple and or Torii of Jishu-jinja, a matchmaking shrine nearby.

We were all ready for dinner by then. It took us less than 40 mins to return to the foot of the hill. :)))
